Local Favorite Chinese Restaurant in the Aventura Miami area #miamieats #chinesefood #datenight #miamirestaurants #aventura #foodie #miami

I’ve been visiting all Asian restaurants in North Beach/Aventura area to post a blog and give people a list where to eat and shop! I’d heard about this restaurant but resisted going cause I suspected from menu it would be more American Chinese! When I entered, it’s clean and renovated cause I noticed upgraded decor from older photos. The back area where I was directed to sit, the furniture was too big in the middle isle and we had to squeeze past elbows. My friend and I both ordered Lunch Special. The minute the Hot & Sour Soup came out, I could tell it was full of cornstarch. The texture was slimy and not pleasant. I order this soup as a benchmark to check if the quality of food will be good. Hit it right on the head. Bad start. The server thought I said Sesame Beef but I ordered Sichuan Beef. I didn’t return it because I didn’t want my friend to eat on her own or wait for me. The Sesame beef was covered in batter and topped with a thick, sweet sauce! The beef itself wasn’t bad but the goopy sauce had probably MSG AND high sugar (which many Chinese restaurants tend to use) was the kind that sent me to sleep in my car before I could finish my food shopping! The pork fried rice was very dry and tasteless! How can you go wrong with fried rice? Come on. I would return to try dumplings and main dishes BUT if they can’t get simple dishes right, why would I spend more money there?

3.Edit: Tried to come by one more time to see if maybe that one day had been different. Unfortunately, beside not being greeted, a person that came after me was able to place an order before me( while I was still not greeted). I didn’t feel like wasting another second, I walked out. It’s a shame. The restaurant has great food, pretty horrible service. 2.Edit: Food was delicious. The only suggestion I can make, since I also work in a service industry, is; Always have someone in the staff acknowledge anyone new that walks in the door, just a “hello and welcome” can change things around. Be transparent about the situation if it is taking a while and communicate constantly, just letting someone know that they are working in your meal every few minutes may reset the clock for them and it shows understanding. Lastly, have people that look like they actually want to work there. I got the vibe that they didn’t care to work with me because maybe they themselves didn’t feel well. 1.Orders can take upwards of 1hr+. If you are ordering here, please make sure you don’t pay unless your order is ready. Hope it all comes well, your food is great!

I have been using this place for the last 10 years. It always was a great place with great food and service. Unfortunately lately this place became down hill, the food is ok but service became unexceptionable. The last 3 orders that we placed was a disaster. For the first order it took almost 2 hours to get food delivered vs 45 min as promised. Knowing that there is an issue with delivery I decided to pick up my 2 screwed up order, as soon as we got home we realized that all vegetables and souse was missing from my Picking Duck order and at that time it was delivered with in 45 min. But the service today got me to write this review. If I could I would left them with 0 stars but unfortunately I have to put 1. We place an order in advance for a pick up upon the arrival the pick up area was a disaster, probably 6-7 people where picking up their order, the pick up area where not organized and people where standing on tap of each other definitely not 6 feet apart as CDC recommend. Not taking in to in consideration my previous experience I didn’t not check the food in the shopping bag and upon arrival to my house we realized that one of the dishes that we ordered where missing. I called the place right away and explain them that one of the dishes are missing and this is not the first time this is happening. They kind of give me two choices to go back and pick it up my self or they can delivered in an hour. I am a front line worker working 8-10 hours a day helping people in this difficult time of pandemic and obviously have no strength to go back and pick up food that they forgot to put, my kids where hungry and waiting an hour was not an option. I explained the owner the situation and ask her to make it right, I ask her to call Uber and deliver the food ASAP she declined my offer didn’t even offer me a refund. They definitely lost a loyal customer.

Reply to the owner: You had your chance to make it right. But you decided to rely on store policy. You decided not to be flexible and loose a long term customer. I would never be coming back or recommending you to any of my friends. There is a lot of great places with a lot of owners who would do anything possible to...

Edit to respond: I get that it is a fee for using the online system. Which I would NOT have used if I wasn’t given the wrong information from your staff! Either properly train all your employees that answer the phone on your policy or honor their mistakes when they make it. Do Not penalize the customer. That is what good customer service NOT taking any responsibility is not!

Clearly customer service is not Mr Chefs strong point. After being extremely loyal customers eating here multiple times a month we experience our last unpleasant visit. On trying to order from their new online system I noticed an additional $3 charge. So I called to inquire about it before checking out and was told by the gentleman that it was a fee that would be removed once I got to the restaurant. He said to just go ahead and place my order like regular and choose pay inside. So I did as I was instructed and when I got to the restaurant a female by the name of Alex I believe told me that I was given the wrong information and that she would not be removing the fee. We went back and forth. Even the guy who told me the wrong info informed her that he told me it would be removed but she did not budge. I know it’s only 3$ but it’s the point that I could have avoided this fee with the right information and placed my order over the phone or in person. At no fault to my own I was charged extra

And to say there’s nothing she could do about the system is a lie. Because had I not come in to pick up the order they had to have some way of canceling it out so why not do that and ring me up how I was told I would be. Regardless clearly they do not care about customer satisfaction or service so I will not be spending another dollar here. And urge you to use bc caution...
