Great Interior, comfortable atmosphere and very hospitable waiter who served our table. Food it self is good if it didn’t claim to be authentic “omakase,” very disappointed by it. Not worth the price. Just order from the regular menu. I have had plenty of Omakase, and this was not it.
No matter how good the ingredients are, it doesn’t cover the lack of creativity and intentions put into it, which are highly expected in omakase experience. Almost felt like the chef was not present or was too busy with orders of whole restaurant to match the omakase diners pace and serve accordingly. The only thing that tasted good was the wagyu with quail egg. The rest was lacking and the ingredients were pulling all the weight in each dish. At some point the sushi rice had too much vinegar on it that masked the flavor of the fish. Was not excepting such a bland and boring miso soup at an “omakase” spot. Almost seemed as if the kitchen was pumping these out to any table who order this “omakase.”
Besides the food, another thing that I noticed was the tight space, the lack of accessibility for...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant because of the good reviews on Google, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. They offer a $50 “omakase” experience, which in the end is just a sequence of nigiris and hand rolls — and not very well prepared.
You don’t get any explanation from the chef or get to watch the dishes being made, like you would in a proper omakase experience, but that wasn’t the problem. The time between courses was also quite long. The nigiri rice, which should stick to the fish, was falling apart when picked up with chopsticks, making it difficult to eat, it felt like it would’ve been easier to just use a spoon and eat the rice and fish separately. Imagine a tasting menu made almost entirely of nigiris, with poorly made rice — it really ruined the whole experience.
Some of the fish were good, but several things fell short — like the blue crab, which didn’t taste fresh at all, and a scallop nigiri that was so heavy on pepper it completely masked the flavor of the scallop. Such a...
Read moreWe had an exceptional dining experience at Omakase Sushi Restaurant in Aventura. The restaurant was not only exceptionally good but also surprisingly inexpensive. The seafood seemed to have just come out of the ocean – from the freshly shucked Blue Point oysters to the sashimi and sushi specials, including the incredibly fresh and delicious California UNI. Every combination of extraordinarily fresh sushi, caviar, and the warm foie gras was perfect. Congratulations to the entire staff, with a special thank you to Martha, the Manager on Duty, and Julian, our server. The pricing on the menu for such high-quality food and drink items was beyond reasonable. The friendly ambiance makes this restaurant a standout. One recommendation we would give this wonderful place is to perhaps add a dish of Japanese Udon noodles, which would very likely be extraordinary, considering everything else we so much enjoyed at Omakase...
