Brought my 6 yr old granddaughter for her first visit to Friendly's. Upon arriving the hostess brought us to our booth and gave my granddaughter a cup of crayons and pics to color. She smiled when given that. She was kept busy and didn't complain once about waiting for her 2 cheeseburger sliders and a side. Part of her kids meal included a Cone head ice cream which put a big smile on her face. I enjoyed a Friendly's BLT and fries. Good but nothing to rave about. With lemonade and soda, tip included bill was $28. Waitress was very friendly and we had a pleasant meal. Will be back. Update 9/23: I brought my granddaughter back to Friendlys for lunch. This time had an older gentleman wait on us. I never felt so rushed thru a meal. Immediately he took our drink orders and brought them right back for our order. I was not ready so just ordered myself a burger without having time to look at anything else. The food was out in record time and was very good. However when it came time for the bill, it was presented immediately after dessert was brought out. We had just begun eating when I felt compelled to stop eating to fill out the info and get my card out. The waiter was right back to grab it but first stood there and examined it. I felt uneasy. Was he just checking that my signature was there or looking at the amount of the tip left? Whichever it was it should have been done away from the table. A good meal but i never felt so rushed. They certainly didn't need the booth as there were only 3 booths in the restaurant occupied including ours. Next lunch trip with my granddaughter I may have to pursuade her to try a...
Read moreOur recent visit to Friendly's was a much-needed respite after receiving the heartbreaking news about the loss of our neighborhood mailman to a years-long battle with a yeast infection. The welcoming atmosphere and caring staff at Friendly's truly made a difference in our day.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and promptly seated. The menu offered a variety of comforting choices that suited everyone's tastes. My wife, Sarah, opted for the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger, which came perfectly cooked with crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a side of golden fries. Our kids, Emily and Jake, were excited about their selections as well. Emily chose the Chicken Tenders, which were delightfully crispy and came with a variety of dipping sauces. Jake went for the Mac & Cheese, which was creamy, cheesy, and served with a side of fresh apple slices.
I decided to indulge in the Honey BBQ Chicken SuperMelt. The combination of grilled chicken, sweet honey BBQ sauce, melted cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon on grilled sourdough bread was simply delicious. Each bite was a comforting delight that helped lift our spirits.
For dessert, we couldn't resist Friendly's famous ice cream. We shared a few different sundaes: the Reese's Pieces Sundae, the Brownie Sundae, and a classic hot fudge sundae. Each one was a perfect ending to our meal, bringing a bit of sweetness to an otherwise somber day.
Overall, our experience at Friendly's was exceptional. The kindness of the staff and the delicious food provided much-needed comfort and joy during a difficult time. We left the restaurant feeling uplifted and grateful for...
Read moreIt pains me to say it but Friendly's has become downright aweful. I used to come here semi-regularly however the service has deteriorated so badly that I now avoid Friendly's, only visiting maybe once a year out of nostalgia and the misguided hope that the place has pulled out of its nose dive.
The food is OK, it's an economical diner and the food provides a fair value. The menu selection is decent, the ice cream selection is awesome.
The service here...there is NEVER anyone at the front to seat you. Employees might peek at you from the kitchen periodically but nobody will come to seat you. The last few times I have visited I left after a long wait where no host or hostess ever appeared. If by some stroke of luck you are able to find someone interested in seating you the next stage of your ordeal will begin. Servers seem to be oblivious to customers, specifically at the beginning and end of your Friendly's headache. You will wait at your table for some time before a server comes to take your order. I suppose you can spin this as a positive, you'll have had plenty of time with the menu and should know what you want by the time the server arrives. Comically enough even the ice cream takes a long time to arrive, something that should take mere minutes to scoop and serve. Once you finish your meal, God help you, as getting a check from someone takes nothing short of an act of God. I really wish I could find something positive to say about the service, but I can't; from start to finish it is...
