Rarely do I feel it necessary to leave a poor review but my most recent and first visit to Marco's in Avon Indiana has left me with only an obligation to share the experience.
As we first pulled up, having confirmed on Google they were in fact open, it was dark and the open sign was off. I checked the door and saw the lights were on so proceeded inside. Every dine in table was piled with pizza boxes, and the entire "dining area" was very unwelcoming.
At the counter the employee that stood there was very annoyed by our presence. I confirmed if they were in fact open and she rolled her eyes and responded "obviously". I make it a point in life to not pass judgements on others, but in a food industry setting there should be an expected level of hygiene that is met when you will be handling food prep for customers. Those standards were not met here....i would venture to say there was major drug use involved in their life. Ooen sores on the arms and hands, twitching to the point where it was a challenge to pull our debit card through the processor, and incoherent word ramblings throughout our beif conversations. I asked if we could dine in and again was met with a sigh and "i guess". I informed them we had never eaten at a Marco's and was met with a blank twitching stare...no help on the menu for us! We hurridly looked over the menu feeling like a huge imposition to whatever tasks we were keeping this employee from. The bill for 3 small pizzas 3 20oz sodas, and an order of breadsticks was over $50. After ordering, we cleared one of the tables ourselves and had a seat. 20 min later we heard a voice say our food was ready as they set it on the front counter and rushed away, boxed as if we had ordered carryout (despite my direct question earlier specifically asking if they did dine in) We took the 3 boxed pizzas to our table and went back to the counter to ask for plates. We were told plates would cost money. Never in my life have i had to pay extra for a plate to eat on. We had to hunt for our own napkins as this employee had all but disappeared at this point. The pizza itself was ok.... slightly undercooked, poorly cut, and just ok.... i think if someone who actually cared had made it, it would have been much better.
Id venture to guess that Marco's as a company is probly worth going to with the right staff on hand.... but if you're in Avon Indiana, i would recommend one of the 25 other pizza establishments over this one. We will never be back unfortunately....there are just too many other pizza places that treat their customers better to spend time on a second chance here. I do hope the franchise owners see this or are made aware and investigate their store and its employees a...
Read moreCustomer service has been hit-and-miss, good at times but lousy other times. Last time I was in the store I had been quoted a 10-15 minute wait over the phone for pickup, and I sat in the store waiting for over 30 minutes.
The only reason my star rating isn't lower is because the pizza really is very good. I ask for the "crust toppers" and the crust is so good I can eat it as a regular breadstick. I called yesterday to give Marcos another try, because even after being irritated I do crave their pizza and cheesy bread.
I asked the person on the phone about the $20 deal I get every time I order Marcos. She was unfamiliar with the coupon and was uninterested in bothering to ask her coworker about it. So, I was uninterested in spending money there and risking another long wait. I ended up picking up dinner from another pizza place nearby on Crawfordsville Road.
I'd say it's worth a try, but DO NOT PAY AHEAD ONLINE. That way, you aren't stuck waiting for your pizza and if your family gets too hungry you can go somewhere else. Some of the staff have been very friendly and willing to help, but...
Read moreMarco's just doesn't care. I placed an order on the app. A few minutes later, I get a call that I would have to come pick up the order. I wasn't happy, but was hungry. He said that it would be about 15 minutes. When I arrived 20 minutes later, there was a kid with a Menards shirt and name tag behind the counter. Gave my name and the kid tells me that he couldn't find my order and that it was probably canceled. It was canceled without my knowledge. I left and got a Digiorno from Kroger.
I sent a complaint via the Marco's website. No response in over a week. I sent a message to them on Facebook messenger. They asked for my contact information and they would escalate the issue and someone would contact me. Almost 2 weeks later, nothing. I give up and Marco's can keep...
