Long overdue review(s)! Why? I have no good reason, but it is essential to emphasize that my first experience was the catalyst that brought me back. The vibe is that of a laid-back neighborhood joint. Come as you are, whether that’s dressed up or down. Everyone is welcome. On both occasions, the individuals that we had the pleasure of interacting with made sure to make us feel that way and provide a wonderful experience, going above and beyond to provide an excellent service. On our first visit, we requested a Bob Marley, which is not on the menu. 98% of places will always turn this request down due to a myriad of reasons, such as not having the ingredients or they don't feel like it, and you are going to get what they have and what they feel like making, or they don't know how to make it. On that visit, the stars aligned. I don’t know if they had all the ingredients or if the bartender knew how to make the drink, but he eagerly and without hesitation took on that challenge and executed it beautifully. It has been some time, so I unfortunately cannot remember our bartender's name from that initial visit. But he did an excellent job, and everyone we encountered on that initial visit was terrific, and that experience left an indelible mark. We used to live in Avondale Estates and now live in South Fulton. We were in the area waiting to pick up my daughter from an event and trying to think of places to eat. We remembered the Reuben egg rolls and the amazing service, chill environment, and great time at the Stratford on our first visit and decided to fall through. On this second visit, from the beginning, the individual that seated us (unsure of his name) was excellent and offered to turn off one of the fans on the patio as it was getting chilly. They must have a large event space upstairs as a class reunion was being held that evening for Tucker High School. Our server, Jamie, was terrific, just so lovely, and provided us with exceptional top-notch service and provided excellent menu recommendations. Even with an event going on, the quality and service did not waiver. Special shout-out to Carter (I hope that is correct), the wonderful bartender whom we did not have the pleasure of meeting; however, she made the best Dark & Stormy I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. They also have a great beer selection. On both occasions that we have come here, everyone that we encountered was phenomenal. They are doing something right at The Stratford Pub, and they have managed to do it consistently for both of my visits, which is a spectacular feat. Try the Reuben egg rolls, the onion soup, and an off-the-menu item recommended by Jamie during our second visit, which is teriyaki fried cauliflower (see pic below-one piece of cauliflower was consumed prior to the pic😅 and accounts for the empty space on the bottom left)!...

Today we had the pleasure of dining at Stratford in Avondale. It's a nice little pub in Avondale Estates. It sits right on the corner of N. Clarendon nextdoor to Second Life thrift store. I decided on the teriyaki wings and I was not disappointed! Sweet Asian meets a little Cayenne heat in these nice sized wings. Jameen Robbins opted for the Sheppard's pie which is a beef and lamb stew topped with mashed potato and serve with a side salad. The little ones chose kids meals. A very juicy hotdog, moist and meaty cheese burger and handcrafted chicken nuggets each served with perfectly seasoned french fries. There are several other options including a special of the day, pub nachos, pulled pork sandwich, and a sandwich that I can't wait to try on my next visit the McStratford which is a fried cod sandwich with American cheese shredded lettuce in tartar sauce. It should be noted that this is also a bar and there are quite a variety of spirits and drafts to choose from!! Our server was Edward and he was spectacular!! Attentive to every need before we even knew we needed it!! Although this was our first visit I can certainly tell you that this will not...

Excellent food. Pretty terrible service. I visited this week. We waited a while to be seated but it wasn't busy. Just a few people seated. The server was distracted by her friends playing Golden Tee. She didn't pay attention when we were ordering and thus our order wasn't correct when it came out. We asked for the wings to come out first as appetizer but they were served with the entrees and other things were mixed up. As we waited on our food, we watched a server use her bare hands to take some fries and eat them from a persons to-go order in the warming area then close the container and put it in a bag to go. One server was moving the trash cans around with her bare hands then immediately grabbed plates of food to bring to people's tables. The servers and bar tender helped themselves to multiple shots of liquor (we counted about 8 shots for the bar tender alone) while we were there. Congrats on the alcohol tolerance there but maybe this is a reason the service and food handling practices are.... questionable. The food was great, but I'm not sure it's worth it given what...

This place comes across as your friendly neighborhood pub that sells food! We stopped for a togo order! I ordered the fish n chips, and she ordered the French dip with tots! By the time we got home, the fries were luke warm and greasy, but the fish was nice and hot! I put the fries and tots in the airflyer, and they crisped up nicely! I should have put the fish in there, too, cause it was cold while waiting for the fries and tots to heat up! OMG, everything was super salty! Now keep in mind this is a pub that sells food! Because everything was so salty for us, it all pretty much went into the trash! I'm not much of a drinker, but if you want that place you can stop by on the way home from a crazy day at work for a beer and a meal, I can see this place being tops on your list! It comes across as that place where everybody knows your name! That sells amazing salty food and world-class beer! I just can't get past the salt! Till Next Time, TTFN! #thestratford

I stumbled upon this pub as I was on my way to the farmers market nearby. I saw the reviews, which sounded great. I ordered the house Bloody Mary, which was one of the better ones I have had. It was the perfect amount of spice, and very flavorful. For my entree, I chose the fish and chips. The plate came with 2 massive pieces of cod, fries, cole slaw, and some nice, tangy tartar sauce. The fish was awesome. The fish-to-breading ratio was perfect. The breading was light and crispy with a satisfying crunch. Almost that of a tempura. The fries were lightly seasoned and, of course incredible after I added the malt vinegar. The Fish and Chips, I highly recommend. Lastly, I just wanted to say our server Aurelia was so welcoming and fun to talk to. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for a great meal and service!
