UPDATE: went back for the first time since writing the review. I must say first that the service I experienced was top notch. I got my first matcha that looked like a much better green than the pale one in the picture below. I was excited!

…I spilled the entire thing while trying get a straw in. They immediately made me a new one (I was ready purchase again) but this one was very pale and again, had zero matcha flavor. I asked if they could add some matcha to it and he very kindly made me a 3rd, yes 3rd, matcha. I’m so appreciative for the AMAZING SERVICE. This one was a beautiful dark green and I thought “ohhhh yes this is it. This is exactly how they should look.” I took a sip and there just simply is very little flavor. My guess is the quality of the actual matcha powder isn’t great because even though the color indicated it should be perfect, it tasted only of milk. ☹️ I’m gonna stick to making my own at home. But again, I will keep coming back for the burrito. 👌🏼

When I tried the mango matcha latte this summer, it was PERFECT. Now, I go and get their regular matcha latte and it is extremely sub-par. There is no where near enough matcha. The mango matcha had that beautiful perfect green that comes with a great milk-matcha ratio. The regular is basically drinking a big cup of oat milk. Barely any matcha.

The breakfast burrito is...

Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a free private parking lot in front of the business; however, parking is very limited. If you cannot find a space out front, try parking on the street (Locust St), left of the building. II. SERVICE Timely III. QUALITY The coffee was perfect. I had an Americano and it was pleasantly acidic and dense. Their cappuccino was also ratioed well. Atmosphere-wise? The interior is great. Except.. Everywhere I go I have to inevitably use the bathroom.. I wish I didn't have to use theirs. The floor was wet. The only accessible toilet paper was thrown on the back of the toilet seat and not in the holder bin. It looked as if they were in the process of renovating it but it was still incomplete with blue tape everywhere. It just didn't feel clean. Hope it improves. IV. CAPACITY The place was filled on a weekday morning up until noon, then the crowd...

Edited: Banjo fixed this! Went in recently and now they have a “pick up” sign, and they asked as soon as I went into the shop for my name, and started my drink (so it was fresh and not just sitting around). Definitely a much better process! Much appreciation for the change.

Love Banjo, but I’ve tried ordering ahead multiple times, and it’s really not a place that does this well. Today, I ordered ahead, and oat chai still took 20 minutes. I watched while they just skipped my drink, and finally one of the baristas asked if I was waiting on a drink (obviously, I’m waiting). She asked my name, and ONLY then did she start the drink. And very unapologetically. If you’re going to wait to make the drink until I get there, then I can just order when I get there! Their online platform gives a time that the drink will be ready, so I don’t understand...

I’ve been a regular at Banjo for over a year now and every time I go it’s a delight. The people who work there are kind, friendly, and generally amazing. I always get their salted caramel latte and it’s always so good and never too hot! Their hand pies are also the bomb — both the savory potato and leek as well as the fruit ones (right now I’m loving their seasonal peach) They do have a decent sized menu with a wonderful in-house kitchen, but I usually just get their baked goods. There are places to sit however it can get a little loud during busy times of the day. If you can’t find parking in the front lot, there’s plenty of street parking around the sides and back! If you go often make sure to get a punch card so you can get a free latte at some point! Would recommend Banjo for sure!
