We live in Goodyear and have been eating at Ahi Poke maybe 3 to 4 times a month. For the most part we have been very satisfied with the poke and have made it our go-to place. Today they lost a couple of very loyal customers who also just so happen to be in the food industry (we are both chefs) because of service. We walked in at 6:30pm to get our usual 3-protein bowls. There were two young guys working. They both looked up at us when we walked in and didn’t say a word. We stood at the counter for a few minutes LITERALLY looking at them as they continued to do whatever it is they were doing. Neither of them greeted us OR acknowledged that we were waiting. We eventually looked at each other, shrugged and walked out and went next door to Trapper Sushi Co.where we were immediately greeted and taken care of. These two guys didn’t even bother to say anything as they saw us walk out in frustration. We are so disappointed. We have spent a lot of money here, Poke is not cheap. We will find another poke place yo eat at that cares about the reason for being in business and that is to serve people. The owners of this place should know who they have on staff. I am leaving this review because we are in this same industry and we would like to know if we were losing business because of bad service from our staff. Do better! We will no longer recommend your restaurant to family...
Read moreLots of great seafood, vegetables, sauces and topping choices. Love that you can get it on rice or salad mix, or why choose, have both! Everything is very fresh and delicious! The Luau tuna is my favorite, the marinade has a great flavor! The kimchi shrimp and spicy tuna I tried were great too. I noticed there was a comment that said it was bland, but perhaps they aren't used to Japanese food. I lived in Tokyo for 4 years and it took a bit of a palate adjustment because we Americans use lots of spices and ketchup and even salsa here in Arizona. Japanese cuisine is designed to very subtly enhance and bring out the natural flavor of foods without overwhelming them. Like their art, the Japanese esthetic is, less is more. Same thing with the size of the entree, no super size here like we have stretched our American stomachs to expect. I was happy with my regular size, but they do offer a larger one too. Great way to kick off the New Year resolutions, healthy food, healthy portion size and so delicious you don't mind...
Read moreLove this place. I come here at least once a week. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five, and even writing this review in the first place, is because sometimes the staff is very unfriendly. The older ladies are GREAT and always welcoming, it’s just the younger girls. One in particular never smiles, never greets customers, rushes people along, acts like helping a customer is the worst thing that could happen to her, and so on and so forth. She’s younger and has ombré hair, I see her around mostly at nights. I get that we all have bad days and it’s sometimes hard to mask that in customer service but EVERY time I come she gives me a terrible experience. Her lack of customer service may start...
