Update 1/21/2025

Ok, this place is growing on me. Saw a post about their hard shell beef tacos and had to try them. Stand out item for sure. Better than Pepe’s IMO and closer to home! Will have to try their taquitos next time to compare, since that’s my go to order there.

If I had just ordered the hard shell tacos, would have been five stars for sure, but I tried their soft tacos and they were just ok. Asada, chicken and carnitas. Good, but definitely had better. They have so many items on their menu, probably hard to make everything fresh. The other issue I had was that I ordered two beef hard shell, but got one potato and one beef. Potato is not a favorite of mine in tacos. On the plus side, they add grilled onions and jalapeños on the side!

German is a great guy and I know it was probably an innocent mistake, so no biggie.

The spicy red sauce is perfect for the hard shell tacos. Mix it with the red salsa and you’re in for a treat.

Now that I have a go to item here, will definitely try to stop by more often and in person! ——-

Ok in a pinch, but at these prices I expected better. Much better. Here’s the breakdown and pictures of the food.

Fish taco $2.48. Small piece of fish, mostly breading with lettuce on two tortillas. Flavors were ok.

Shrimp taco $3.73. Slightly larger pieces of shrimp compared to the fish taco, but again lots of breading. Taste = ok

Torta de milanesa $10.23. Was hopeful compared to the tacos, but meat was a little dry and there wasn’t much of it. Mostly lettuce with a couple pieces of avocado.

Last but not least, menudo. What I was craving and while it hit the spot, it was again just Ok. At $12.36, expected a bit more. I asked for pata, which they included but there was no meat on the pata. Just bones. The great thing about menudo is even if it lacks flavor, you can always add seasoning. This order didn’t include oregano and dried chili, but thankfully ordered enough menudo in my day to have some in the cupboard. Along with lots of squeezed lemon, onions, cilantro and some super spicy red chili oil (also from a past order of menudo) was able to satisfy my craving.

Another thing to work on is their salsa or more like hot sauce. It had the taste and consistency of tapatio sauce than a salsa. It tasted ok, just not what I like on my Mexican food.

The pluses? Came with lots of lemons, radishes, onions and cilantro. Also came with a free side of chips. Delivery time was really good too, but that’s not necessarily the restaurants doing but they did play their part.

I’ve been wanting to try this place, but maybe I should try their specialty which looks like rotisserie chicken and get my torta from Lolita’s or Tito’s, fish and shrimp taco from Tacos Ensenada or Taco Nazo and will have to keep searching to...

Taco King in Azusa is an absolute gem! The Al Pastor tacos are hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with authentic flavor. Every bite transported me straight to Mexico. To top it off, the agua de pepino was incredibly fresh and refreshing, the perfect complement to the tacos.

What makes this place even more special is that my girlfriend, who’s from Mexico, is in love with the tacos too—and that’s saying a lot! When someone who grew up with authentic Mexican street food gives it a stamp of approval, you know it’s the real deal.

Beyond the food, German, the young entrepreneur behind Taco King, is truly inspiring. He’s not just building a great taco spot; he’s laying the foundation for a successful and thriving business. His passion and dedication shine through in every dish and every detail of the experience.

If you haven’t been to Taco King yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is going to be HUGE! I’m happy to be the first...

Seriously some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! I ordered the carne asada tacos, carne asada wet burrito, combination plate #1, and a piña & cucumber agua fresca — everything was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and full of flavor, and the salsa added the perfect kick without overpowering the dishes.

The carne asada in particular stood out. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The wet burrito was loaded and satisfying, and the combination plate gave a great variety of classic flavors. The agua fresca was super refreshing, and the piña and cucumber combo was surprisingly perfect.

On top of the amazing food, the customer service was top notch. We felt genuinely welcomed the moment we walked in. You could tell the staff was happy to serve us and took pride in what they do, made the whole experience even better.

I’ll absolutely be coming back and recommending Taco King to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food. A...

Súper delicioso el molcajete de mariscos. Ideal para 2 personas. Y el agua fresca de Pepino con limón, preparada en el momento de pedirla, súper riquísima!!!
