Normally I wouldn't give them one star. I would give them four stars, but I can't after what happened to me the last time that I ordered food from them.
Here's what happened:
This past Monday, December 10th, at around 10:30 P.M., I ordered a small hand-tossed pizza with marinara sauce, extra cheese, pepperoni, green peppers, and leaf spinach and a marinara dipping sauce to be delivered. (My usual and favorite toppings btw.) The delivery was quick and the pizza was made to order and delicious.
So what was the problem? Well...
That night, prior to ordering my late dinner, I had flown from Seatac (Seattle Tacoma International Airport) to Dulles International Airport, via a direct flight. The flight was actually one of the best I've been on. I did eat on the plane, but I only the free pretzels and a Coke. I had a bottle of "Wet Ones" antibacterial wipes with me to wash my hands off occasionally, instead of making frequent visits to the lavatory to do that.
Also, I want to mention that I felt great. After all of the traveling I had done prior to boarding my flight home, I had not felt sick or had any health issues whatsoever.
Anyway, when I got home it was very late and I was VERY hungry, so I ordered the previously mentioned pizza and I ate most of it.
18 hours later I got EXTREMELY sick.
(WARNING: The rest of this message gets graphic and might upset some readers.)
About 4 hours earlier I ate a small bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with milk and a small glass of orange juice, which I've do almost every day for breakfast. That was all I ate after eating the pizza and before I got sick.
My illness came on without warning and was SO severe I thought I would have to go to the hospital. I've had food poisoning before, a long time ago, and this was very different from that and much worse.
First, I had such severe stomach pain that I was doubling over. Thinking I just had a very upset stomach, I went to the bathroom to try and poop. I successfully pooped, but about a minute after I suddenly felt extremely nauseated and I quickly leaned forward and vomited all over the bathroom floor. Confused by what had just happened and still in a lot of pain, I sat and stared at the mess in front of me for several minutes.
(I should mention that I'm 43 years old and I was home alone when this happened.)
It took a while, but I cleaned up after myself. Then I went upstairs to our other bathroom to wash my face and rinse the vomit out of my mouth. That's when I saw that I was breaking out with hives. At first they appeared in a few places, but VERY quickly they spread to most of my upper body. So, terrified and trying not to panic, I frantically texted my mom and told her everything. Within a few minutes she called and told me to take 2 Benadryl pills with lots of water, which I did. The hives went away overnight, but my nausea and stomach pain continued.
I had no appetite. I did have a fever, body aches, a very infrequent mild cough, the constant nausea, stomach pain, and some diarrhea. I also had to drink lots of water and I often felt dizzy when I stood up and tried to walk around. It took a long time for me to eat. I had to take a lot of Pepto Bismol first, but not more than recommended in one day. However, that only worked the first day after I suddenly got very sick.
Yesterday, after eating very little food, the severe nausea and stomach pain came back. I also started vomiting again. I suffered for almost 10 hours before my mom got me some more Pepto Bismol, which resolved that problem again.
After eating breakfast, I feel a lot better, but I'm not back to 100% yet.
I can't be certain, but I might have come down with norovirus. It's similar to food poisoning, but worse because of the frequent vomiting and diarrhea that sufferers endure.
This has never happened to me before and I have never gotten sick from anything that I ate from this Domino's store in the past. That's why I've posted this message.
Also, I want to add that I have absolutely no...
Read moreEDIT, June 30 2021: AVOID THIS LOCATION. My rating in August 2020 was five stars. I had to change it to one star because the way I was treated was appalling. My pizza was without sauce (did not request no sauce) When I called the store to let them know, the pizza maker Ahmed was very confrontational, insisting that no sauce was on the order. He said he will make another one for us to pickup tomorrow. I am disabled as is my aunt. We do not drive. I told him we are unable to get to the store. He kept on saying that we need to pick up the pizza. I kept insisting on speaking to the person in charge. Another man came on the phone. I asked if he is the shift supervisor. He said yes. I asked for his name. He said Deese. When he offered his last name I said I’d like to have that and he said Nuts, then hung up. Absolutely disgusting behavior, I was aghast and angry. There is nothing that would make me order from this location ever again, let alone Domino’s. We will go back to ordering from local pizza shops. Once again, AVOID THIS LOCATION.
ORIGINIAL REVIEW, AUGUST 2020: Way better than the Lee Hwy location in Arlington. Always pleasant when I do carryout. I’m not sure if he still works at this location but Shakib has such an affable demeanor even when it’s busy and hectic. He happily greets customers every time. Nearly all my orders have been well made. There was one issue with one of the delivery drivers (unprofessional, rude) but I do not think he works there anymore. Other than that my delivery experiences...
Read moreOrdered 2 large pizzas with 3 toppings (the weeklong carry out deal) but when I went to the store to pick up, I was told I had to pay full price. They didn't give me the promotion rates. They said they don't carry that promotion at that store! I showed them the promotion on their website from my phone but they said it was online orders only. I said it does not say online order only on the promotion but they said they could not give me that rate. I have had this issue a year ago too with this same outlet. The owner/who ever was there on that day, said that it is only an online offer and I will have to pay full price for those pizzas. I was trying to surprise my parents with the pizzas so I didn't make a fuss and paid it but not sure if they understand I will be taking their business somewhere else!! FYI - I love Dominos pizzas but the attitude of this location will 100% make me take my orders somewhere else! If corporate Domino's Pizza is reading this message please note I have always ordered via the phone for this deal and I have never had this issue at other locations. (I live in a different state than where my parents live). I'm not sure if this inconsistency is normal for Domino's pizza promotions or if the store person lied to me! Never going back to this...
