TERRIBLE SEAFOOD PLACE, WILL NEVER COME AGAIN!! I donāt usually write reviews but wow this place stole my money! When I first came in I was so excited to try this place out and I bought the seafood sampler even though there were bad reviews about it (I donāt like to judge based on a couple reviews but man, now I wish I did). Iāll first talk about the main seafood platter with shrimp and lobster, which was ok (there wasnāt much sauce). Iāve tried many other places before and they usually give so much more sauce but I didnāt complain about this. They also forgot about potatoās that comes with it which I had to drive back to get. I really didnāt care nor would I write a review about such small things. So this is where the worst part comes in⦠my main concern was the seafood sampler. It was absolutely disgusting! The shrimp, oyster, and crab were all shriveled up and looked terrible. It looked so shriveled up that I couldnāt even tell what it was. Very very disgusting. My gf and I who go to seafood places regularly were very disappointed and we just threw this food away. I complained to the woman about it but she just argued with me multiple times about it and made me feel like itās my fault. I get that youāre busy but you canāt just brush me off and argue without understanding me. You have to listen to my concern, thatās what a business is supposed to do. She kept telling me āI told you this is the portion over the phoneā and Iām trying to tell her I know the portion quantity and Iām not concerned with that, Iām concerned over the fact that it looks so small all shriveled up. She just went away and it was terrible. No refunds given!! She was so quick to take my money but no time to hear any complains. Even fast food places such as McDonaldās and Popeyes will refund you and apologize without question. How do you run a business like this?? My family has multiple 5 star business and my dad has spent 50 years in the food/customer service industry. Let me explain to you that critisim is crucial and you should listen to what your customers are saying and take the food back that we are complaining about. Like cāmon this is so common sense. And if multiple customers are complaining about the same thing, maybe you should stop thinking weāre attacking you and think to fix your food. Treating us like this will make sure we will never come back. Instead of wasting $60 here , I recommend all of you to go to Popeyes and order a seafood combo for $6. Better quality food and customer service than this place. Thank you for taking my hard earned money, I hope...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne star for the taste of the sauce. I don't usually leave comments for restaurants, but I think I should this time. The story started with me wanting some cajun seafood for tonight. Live Crawfish & Seafood has been recommended by DC Chihuo (DCå蓧å°åé) for a while. So, I decided to give it a try. I understood that it is a special time period because of the crononavirus. However, what happened next really really made me and my fiance feel uncomfortable. I am not sure if the guy is the owner of the restaurant. He might hear me talking to my fiance in Chinese. When he was taking the order, he was standing 6 feet away from us. We couldn't even what he was saying. Since this was my first time coming to the restaurant, I asked for recommended portion for two people. He did not even step over and explain. We ordered 1 pound of shrimp, 1 pound of crawfish, and 1 pound of mussels. Then, he took the order from another table where non-Chinese were sitting. He did not stand that far away. Then we waited for like half an hour for the food. The taste is good, I have to say. However, it does not deserve to be waited for so long. I only experience this waiting time at the busy hours at Hot n Juicy. We waited for another 30 minutes. The butter in the sauce was starting to turn into some solid pieces of butter. Even the table came later than us got their crawfish and mussels. My fiance went to the counter and ask. They said they would check with the kitchen. After another 15 minutes, the same guy, stil standing 6 feet away, said, "We sold out of mussels. Do you want to order something else?" So, we were discussing what to get. He walked away without saying anything. We were like??? As a result, we decided not to order anything even though I was not full and I did have a plan to order more. I don't understand why the owner has to have such attitude toward us. Was that because we did not order 100 pounds of food? Or, was that because we speak Chinese? Well, it does not matter. We won't visit again. By the way, to the owener, we have not been to China since the summer 2019. If you are really afraid of the virus, you should wear a mask and a glove. Those would help, but not standing 6 feet away. Just to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove this place! The only place we've ventured out to so far and I must say we haven't bothered trying out new places yet as we're hooked on this one. The sauce is so good!
A few things to know when visiting.
WAITING: You will wait for your food. EVERYTHING is made to order. We've been in the restaurant when apparent new-comers have been in to visit. Almost immediate attitude seen when they feel they've been waiting too long for food. We didn't know until our first visit, that we could call our order in ahead of time. That way it's ready upon arrival. In general seafood gets cold quickly so I don't know about any of you - but I'd prefer mine piping hot - and this is what you get! So relax and wait it's worth it! Otherwise visit this place when you're not at the point of simply starving.
THE RESTAURANT: Mom-n-pop for sure! It's not a huge restaurant nor is it fancy inside.
OWNERS: The owners are absolutely the sweetest! While yes it can get really busy and crowded and sometimes they may be short on help. GET UP and go to the counter if you need something from them. Otherwise they may be tied up with the register, the phone, cooking...certainly not twiddling their thumbs and ignoring customers. We sat and watched a group complain about the portion of 1lb of crablegs. 1lb! I assume they expected a heaping pile? So they offered to bring out the scale to verify the weight. Totally something I would have done as well. The customer seemed taken-aback. Checkmate in my mind - we've been so irritated sometimes by the rudeness of the customers. They knew us on our second visit and have acknowledged us every since whether we're dining in or doing carryout.
New Orleans Live Crawfish & Seafood - keep up the good work! You can't please everyone but you sure as hell have made repeat customers out of us.
See you...
