Foster's Donuts — Restaurant in Bakersfield

For YEARS this used to be my all time favorite place for the best customer service and quality donuts!! This morning was a very sad and unforseen disappointment. Was not busy, was not greeted by either of the two employees. I said good morning and asked for a cherry burrito. I was told they only make them on the weekend and to pick something else. I looked at the showcases which were dirty, had a fly hovering over a rack of French Cruellers...the Apple Fritters were puffy and burned black, all maple was dry, flat and unappealing...I opted for a small box with 2 glazed rounds (good), a cinnamon twist (dry, old and overfried), 2 chocolate chip rolls, a chocolate round and 2 plain cake. My total came to $11.57. I gave the young lady a $20 and she handed me my change. No count back no thank you no have a good day, nothing. I asked if Alvin would be in any time today to which she responded no, he comes in early, drops off whatever and leaves for the day. Very disappointed that this is what my family's favorite spot has turned into. I hope Alvin boots her incompetent rude snooty ass , works with his baker and gains control over this "used to be...

No thank you. I love trying out new establishments, so I come into this shoppe for donuts. All of it look really good. The guy comes from the back, says hello, immediately grabbing a tissue to start picking up the donuts. I gently asked him if gloves are worn, he said no. I asked if he will please wash his hands then, he said sure. He go behind a wall, turn the water ok on, and I'm listening for the hands to be washed. After a min or so, I started hearing other sounds. He was taking a very long time to wash, then realized the other sounds made was of the man spitting multiple times, after listening to it, I walked out. There is absolutely no way I'm spending money here to get sick from this nasty person. He whole personal upkeep was very unappealing to start, especially when making and serving food, but the spitting, oh hockey sticks NO! I was ready to make a big purchase, but all that's in my head at this point is the Hocking and spitting. Please sir, start wearing gloves and care for your appearance and never EVeR spit when you have a customer right there listening ready to purchase something that goes...

The guy who they had behind the counter before was very nice, I would be able to purchase fresh doughnuts when I would go, the guy who has been working there Now sucks he is very rood he won't want to sell the fresh doughnuts, he wants to sell the old doughnuts, I will Not pay for old doughnuts, this was my favorite place for doughnuts before I will NEVER go back to this place, Customer service is #1 for anyone who has a business. I went on Sun, 1/21/24 at 9pm this is the 2nd time this guy refuses to sell fresh doughnuts, I had recommended this place to my pregnant daughter and she went and the same thing happened to her the new Mexican guy there is very rood and won't want to sell the fresh doughnuts, hopefully the Owner can do something about this issue. No more doughnuts for me from this place unless they get better...
