Sizzler — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I mainly go here for the Salad bar. I love everything about it. Almost everything you could want for the ultimate chef salad. They even have salad variations you wont find other places. The hot bar has fried chicken wings (which sadly, are usually hard or rubbery from sitting under the heat lamps too long), mac and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce, and a variety of soups. There is a taco bar with tortillas and taco shells, shredded pork, seasoned beef, beans, rice, salsa, pico de gallo, lettuce, tomatos onions, jalapenos, cheese and sour cream. Im probably forgetting something, but you get the idea. And then there is dessert. Ice cream machine, hot cobbler, bread pudding (with raisins), chocolate, vanilla, and tapioca pudding, various jellos, and fruit salad concoctions. If that isnt enough for you, yes, their meat dishes are very good also! I wish I could replicate them at home! Whatever their secret seasoning is, I want some! They also have beer and wine, along with the usual coffee, tea, and soft drink selections. Plus, lemonade, with or without fresh strawberries, blackberry tea, and cherry limeade...ALL good! Just for information, all Sizzlers are not created equal. I went to one recently in WA. state, and they didnt have nearly the selection...

Last night, as I was laying my head down to go to sleep, I was left wide awake, tossing and turning all night due to the epiphany that I was left with after my meal at Sizzler. The question that was on my mind was; “How is this my first time in my long 43 years of living experiencing true perfection?” I realized I had a flawed sense of perfection after the service that I received from Amanda yesterday. I haven’t been able to have a good meal since Lisa left me and took the kids, and I decided to try and cheer myself up with a decent meal. What I didn’t know was I would have a life changing experience that made me feel like I could do it again. I ordered the steak and shrimp scampi, and I was greeted with the most positive, perfect, can do it all and then some attitude from my awesome waitress. The scampi(could’ve used a tad bit more sauce) was very good, but the service was just out of this world good, I just couldn’t believe it. It made me realize that I need to lace up my boots and take my life back. I’ve got a date with a woman named Denise off of PlentyOfFish, and you bet we’re going to be taking ourselves to Sizzler. I’m lucky to have had such an experience. Maybe I’ll bring my boys out here with me next time if she ever lets me...

I haven’t been to Sizzler in years, so honestly I didn’t know what to expect when I decided to eat all my daily calories in one sitting. I got the unlimited salad bar and let me tell you something, it was dope. The service was amazing, besides the lady that had a pug looking face and was rude looking. My server was Oscar and let me tell you something, his service was great and you can tell that he truly enjoys what he does. You can tell that he enjoys every aspect of his job from bringing the drinks to the table from removing dirty dishes from my table and commenting with a big smile, “you must’ve been a hungry boy.” Oscar truly made my Sizzler experience one to remember. Compliments to the farmers who grow the lettuce for the salads, and compliments to the cooks who cut the lettuce and prepare it for people to feast on. The soups were pretty excellent as well, but lemme tell you something. I’m an apple cobbler connoisseur and Sizzler has pretty amazing cobbler. And lemme tell you something, if you put the ice cream on top of the cobbler, it will open your world to new things.
