Subway — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Went to the same Subway restaurant that I go to almost every day and as I was waiting in line I witnessed the female employee slamming trays of bread in and out of the holding area. She started pulling trays out and flipping bread around and she seemed upset. Finally, she turned around with this look of disgust on her face and when asked what was wrong she pointed to a cockroach crawling around in where the bread was kept. She grabbed a piece of paper and then killed it. She then started checking the bread she took out to start making the sandwich for the person in front of me.

This is terrible for me because Subway was my one nearby healthy yet cost affordable option while at work. I now can only wonder about the other food establishments (Mauricio's Grill, Domino's Pizza, Smith's Bakery, the Korean BBQ place, and even Fastrip) in that same strip mall. They should all probably be checked out.

I recently visited the Subway located at 6401 White Lane, and I have to say, it’s quickly become my go-to spot for fresh sandwiches. The sandwiches are consistently well-made, and I appreciate the variety of toppings and bread options available. One highlight of my experience was the staff; they were incredibly friendly and made sure everything was perfect with my order. The dining room was immaculate, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the place. I also can’t resist mentioning the fresh cookies—always a delightful treat to go along with my meal! It's nice to support a locally owned establishment where the owners are just as friendly and welcoming as their staff. There were only two staff there and both of them had absolutely no sense of urgency. When we arrived they both we finishing up with customers that were there before I, and still it took another 7- 10 minutes to even be seen. Then while she is making my sandwich she says if I changed my mind on what I wanted because she said I was making a "face". Then while she proceeds to make my sandwich she looks over to her co worker and tells her about how when she was on her break earlier she heard gunshots!
