Upon arriving we were currently told that they would be a minute even though we had a reservation after about a 10 minute wait because the bartender/host/server was overcome by the small amount of people she had in the restaurant we were seated unfortunately the female that was working was not very presentable in her parents extremely rude and Kurt didn't ask if we had been there before or not didn't offer any specials was very slow and coming to get our drink order I had to take the initiative to get our appetizers and our order in The atmosphere was loud and not very stimulating overly bright The food was not spaced out properly her advertisers were brought out shortly after our drinks The beer that was ordered was not poured into the glass for my companion however it was abruptly put on the table was an empty glass that was not even chilled The salad came out rapidly after the appetizers everything was served in paper lined baskets or a paper plate which was odd The main entree however was delicious we had the sear ahi tuna and the pecan crusted halibut which were amazing however the Jasmine rice was flavorless but cooked well salt and pepper was able to live in it The green beans were not fried as stated in the menu and were terribly undercooked All in all the experience was not worth the money and if I had known that the only thing palatable flavorful would have been the two main course dishes and only a part of it I would have gone somewhere else The chef was not wearing a hair net looked extremely disinterested it was a shame we had been very excited to try this...

I recommend the jalapeno Margarita bloody Orange for sure the Thai chicken fries the serrano fries. The Burger was excellent light and delicious and great size and the duck tacos were awesome. I can't wait till the next time I have them. The chicken tacos were grilled and my daughter enjoyed them. The ahituna was really delicious. Well served portions totally satisfied the service was Phenomenal went Home 2 hours later. Typically 1st 2 hours or free than a dollar for each additional hour but did not see a crossbar. Don't know how they do? It was an awesome experience next time with more time. Probably go window shopping. On the boulevard behind...
Read moreThis is both exactly what I had hoped for and better than I had expected. It's a small gastropub in an alley in downtown Bakersfield, and my experience with those is that some are incredible and the others are so-so. This one falls into the incredible category; good, solid food and an interesting beer selection.
If your idea of 5-star cuisine involves fine dining, this is not that -- but for a gastropub, it's definitely worth the trip. Their menu includes options ranging from tri-tip to lamb, chicken or duck, seared tuna, etc. They have small bites or salads as well as snacks. And if you're looking for fusion tacos, they have those too.
Don't expect a large place with a lot of staff - this is a small family business with 2 people. But if you want something a little different as you drive up the 99, consider a little side trip into the heart of downtown Bakersfield to this...
