[ ] Ordered a bread bowl on march 1st after tax they cost 12.58$ [ ] Went in the girl at the register starts taking my order (mind you already not very comforting customer service nothing to make you want to leave a tip, not even that I’m walking in to get my own food wasn’t gonna dine in NO REASON FOR ME TO LEAVE A TIP) as I tell her my order just a clam chowder bread bowl she asked if I want to leave a tip I simply said no. I then get charged an even 16$ ( funny how it was an even 16$ no cents ) when the bread bowl is only $12.58 after tax I didn’t want to cause complications I was just thinking to myself how on earth did it come out to 16 $ when all I got was a clam chowder bread bowl I automatically assumed they changed prices due to inflation. Also as soon as I said l wasn’t going to leave a tip her demeanor and attitude immediately changed I felt her energy and presence seeming as she had even less patience and more annoyance almost as if I were a nuisance. Waiting for my order for a while now seeing others come in after me to dine in get their food before mine when all I ordered was a clam chowder bread bowl. I was waiting for well over 30 minutes. I’ve been going for about over a yr consistently but I noticed that every time there were certain employees and even managers were very RUDE not friendly at all where it got to the point that I caught myself not even wanting to deal with their service even if I wanted their food. And to be even more honest the only thing that was good was the taste of the clam chowder bread bowls besides that the portion should be better for the price. [ ] I don’t remember the name of the employee that took advantage and gave herself a tip against my will but obviously I won’t be giving them more business because west coast sourdough is very unprofessional and unethical in my opinion and just how when I first started going there I would spread good news about them, no longer will be doing so and will spread my upsetting personal experiences I’ve had over time. [ ] I really couldn’t care less about the 3$ they took from me what’s more upsetting is that made me NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN . I had called back some time after, i don’t understand how they could hear me perfectly but as soon as I started explaining to the manager what had happened if they could just reimburse me in any way shape or form to make it fair they couldn’t hear me clearly anymore, it was no coincidence they didn’t want to hear me out from the jump I could feel it and since I hadn’t had the receipt ticket anymore they couldn’t take my word for it ( I understand if they have to follow protocols and regulations but for the greater good this would have been the best option) and continued to ignorantly tell me that she knows all of the employees there , basically saying they would never do that and they don’t steal, I let them know that I won’t contribute to their business how I once did bc this is not right instead of trusting me and keeping a consistent customer they chose to not believe me and trust me i wouldn’t be this passionate taking my time to do what’s right so others are aware whom they are doing business with. [ ] Hopefully management sees this and makes change to the employees and head managers within because there absolutely needs to be change. [ ] I Would have been a loyal customer to this day but since I’ve had no justice against this deception I will gladly spend my money elsewhere whenever I want to enjoy a clam...
Read moreTo start off this is a brand new shop however I will say consistency is the same for every shop (in town at least) so this review really encompasses the whole of West Coast Sourdough. If you dont want to read the whole post here is the short answer, there are better values in town for subs, the bread is the best sourdough I've had in town, and they have limited options while still being overwhelming with unique options. Let me start with this, there is what you pay for and then there is what you get. This is what brought down my rating the most. $21 for a small drink, small chips and 8" sub. It seems kind of high and the options are pretty limited however they do have some unique elements to them. Now the sandwich itself. The bread and cheese heavily carry the flavor of the sandwich with few exceptions, the meat and veg is not the star of the show here, so if you love a good bread you are in the right place. Some tips in the sandwich, if you want the house sauce to show through do not get any amount of mustard it will cut right through the house sauce, if you want a different bread for a Ruben make sure to ask them, they default to sourdough but do carry honey wheat, marble rye and gluten free. While there 2 of the sodas were out of order and the Pepsi zero was basically water as well so if you are getting those be aware. They will ask if you would like a meal, please be aware the options for the side they offer does change the price, a bag of chips is not the same price as the Mac n cheese. The atmosphere is best described as upscale industrial. The tables at this location are both far from the line and yet seemingly stuffed into one side. Would west coast sourdough be my first choice? No it wouldn't I love a meaty sandwich that also has a good balance. Is Westcoast the best value? Again no it isn't, you get less but pay more for an ok sandwich on amazing bread. In conclusion you should come here for bread and if you got some time and money to spare. If you just want the bread experience they sell a whole loaf of it for about $5. I'll visit again but only when I'm...
Read moreThis was my third time here all three times the food was amazing and the bread was top notch. The first two visits (even though a little unorganized) were great. Sometimes the wait is a little long but I didn’t mind waiting. The first two times the attention to customer service was great. However my friend and I went for lunch today. I had the turkey avocado and bacon sandwich and she had a blt. When I bit into my sandwich my avocado was extremely hard. I paid extra for it which isn’t a problem if I could have eaten it. I let the girl at the register know that their avocados were not even close to being ripe and she might want to let the other customers know. She looked at me and continued to make the sandwhich. I then called her and let her know nicely once again that the avocado wasn’t ripe and she might want to let the customers know before she charged and served them. She wrapped the sandwich up and bagged it. There was another young girl Hispanic that responded to me and even checked the rest of the avocados and let her manager know that the entire box wasn’t ripe. She apologized however the girl with the black braid and the gentleman dark hair in the back never said anything and continued to go on about their stuff. It was a weird dynamic for customer service. I love leaving positive content and usually only leave a negative remark if it has to do with customer service. The food is always great and fresh but today at 2 pm it was not it. Hispanic girl that checked the avocados 10/10 food 8/10 freshness 10/10 girl with the black braid at the register and dark haired man in the back 2/10 customer service with the price we pay for food today...
