If we are able to resolve this issue, I will amend my rating to 5 stars because normally Andy's is very good. But twenty- something dollars for 2 people is too much to spend on ice cream and not have it just right (or even edible for some customers). My husband and I usually get 2 large plain vanilla concretes as he has a lot of food sensitivity and allergies, plus I can't eat that much ice cream at one time so he likes to finish mine. Last night, we went through the drive thru and placed our order with a young lady standing outside with a tablet. She repeated our order back and told me to pay at the windows, which I proceeded to do. I was then handed back my card and the bag containing our order. No receipt was given, which I didn't really think about at the time, because it's vanilla custard with zero mix-ins, you'd have to try pretty hard to get that wrong.......but Alas, when we got home we decided to put it in the freezer to eat after we finished a project in the garage, so we didnt discover the problems until after the store would have just closed.. We were highly disappointed to find out that there were toppings and mix-ins in both concretes. I believe they are both key lime pie concretes because of the taste. My husband couldn't eat his, and I didn't care for the flavor. We tried calling, but in all fairness, they may have been out of the building by that point. I'm not sure. However, I've called twice today, but there's no answer. We just want to ask if we can bring these incorrect concretes back and exchange them for what we had ordered. Just plain vanilla concretes. I would like confirmation of them being willing to do this before driving all the way back there. So, for now, the 2 star rating is for the incorrect order and lack of receipt, but mainly because they ,so far, have been unreachable to speak about...
Read moreMy experiences at Andy's Frozen Custard have always been filled with delight, thanks to their creamy, dreamy treats that never fail to hit the sweet spot. Their menu boasts an impressive array of flavors and concoctions, each more tantalizing than the last. However, there's one glaring omission that has left a void in the heart of my dessert routine - the removal of the Orange Freeze from their menu.
The Orange Freeze was not just another item; it was a perfect blend of zesty orange soda and smooth, velvety vanilla custard, creating a refreshingly unique dessert that stood out brilliantly among the rest. Its disappearance has been a significant loss, stripping away a flavor that brought a vibrant twist to the classic custard experience. This decision has not only left me longing for its return but also puzzled as to why such a beloved option would be taken away.
Andy's, your Orange Freeze was a masterpiece of frozen dessert artistry, blending the best of both worlds - the fizzy, tangy kick of orange soda with the creamy sweetness of your signature custard. Its removal has been keenly felt by enthusiasts like myself, who saw it as a highlight of our visits. The absence of this flavor leaves a gap in your otherwise stellar lineup, a gap that could easily be filled by its much-anticipated return.
In earnest, I appeal to you: Please bring back the Orange Freeze! Its unique taste and the joy it brought to so many of your customers is irreplaceable. By reinstating the Orange Freeze, you'd not only restore a piece of Andy's Frozen Custard's legacy but also bring back a crowd-pleaser that undoubtedly drew people through your doors. Here's hoping for its swift return to your menu, where it...
Read moreI moved from Kirkwood to Ballwin a couple of years ago, and this became my closest Andy's.
I really like the toppings/mix-ins at Andy's as well the variety of seasonal options they offer. Cookie Casanova (January-ish) and the pumpkin pie concrete (fall) are two of my favorites.
Unfortunately, every single concrete I've ordered here has been mixed poorly. There will be at least one large section of mostly vanilla custard, and most of your mix-ins will be refined to one section--usually at the very top or bottom.
It's custard, so it's still good. However, it would be better if it were completely mixed. Kirkwood occasionally had this problem, but it was not every single time.
I know a lot of younger people work here, so I don't know if it's a training issue or if there is just a lot of turnover. In all fairness, it's been a couple of years since I've been to the Kirkwood location. However, I frequented it fairly regularly and as mentioned, mixing was...
