TLDR: Amazing Italian eats with a well stocked Italian market. Come for the italian hoagies and pizza.
Vibe: 5/5. Di Pasquale's latest location in Brewers Hill is definitely an upgrade from their humble Highlandtown location. The market is broken up into 2 sections, the grocery market on the left and the sit down full service restaurant on the right. The market is sprawling and has everything you could ever want from an Italian market. From pasta, to frozen house made sauces, to cold deli salads to alcohol, it's a foodie destination! For the restaurant portion, the dining area sits off to the side of the market, giving it a bistro vibe. There are several 4 top tables that can be pushed together to accommodate larger groups. Simple yet clean decor, nothing to complain about!
Service: 5\5. The staff at Di Pasquale's were fantastic. We went for a weekday night dinner and were seated immediately. Our waitress did a fantastic job explaining the menu and helping us make a few hard choices (the menu is huge!). Bonus points for our waitress bringing us a whole carafe of iced tea, as it was a hot day outside and several rounds of fresh brewed iced tea was exactly what we needed. Overall, the service was super friendly, quick and very helpful.
Food: 5/5. Hands down, some of the best Italian eats in Baltimore. On our visit, we went with the Old World and Tuna Diavolo hoagies and a Briella Piccante pizza. Both subs were well made, stacked moderately high of meats and cheese. The flavor combos of both subs worked amazingly well, both having fresh pickled hots from the deli that just make the sandwich. Bread is also made in house, having a nice chew and structure to hold up against and sort of toppings. The pizza was also very tasty. The Briella Piccante was a Neapolitan red sauce pizza that had spicy soppresseta, mozzarella cheese curds and green olives as the toppings. The combo of spicy meat, creamy cheese curds and briney olives worked wonderfully. The pizza dough is very thin, with a nice solid crunch with every bite (no flop). Pizza size is approximately 10", so the perfect size to share if ordering other items or for 1 person. Since no Italian meal is complete without dessert, we opted to order some of their fresh made pistachio gelato, chocolate dipped cannoli and the fried dough with Nutella. Di Pasquale's cannoli game was on point. Generous cream filling with a crunchy outer shell that was dipped in chocolate. The pistachio gelato was also a winner, including huge pieces of pistachio in every bite. The fried dough was reminiscent of a funnel cake, but without the crunch which is my favorite part. However, the Nutella sauce was a nice touch for dipping. Overall, our entire meal cost around $65 which is more than reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered. If you are looking for a casual Italian meal for both lunch and dinner, I highly suggest stopping by Di...
Read moreI've been going to dipasquales since I was 15 years old. I'm now 43 years old. There food is absolutely delicious very clean establishment and awesome employees. There are so many things to choose from on their menu . Joe dipasquale the owner is a Good guy and very hard working he comes from the old school roots of his Italian heritage which are known to be hard working people but also those Highlandtown roots as well where people worked hard from all cultures and took pride of where they came from and what little they may have owned. Every time I go to Dipasquales Joe is in there working hard taking orders. Making food greeting customers with a smile u actually wouldn't think he was the owner. You would think he was a actual employee 😁 The reason I wanted to point that out is because alot of establishments in today's society they don't have the owner actually working in the location they are usually sitting home just collecting their money but not Joe he is in there definitely working . so this shows how much pride Joe has for his business to actually be there day in and day out. Dipasquales has moved to canton just a few minutes only minutes from their old location in Highlandtown I must say the bigger location is definitely better with lots of parking which is a plus and the food is still great 👌 they also have another location near the harbor as well. If u have never eaten from Dipasquales u must check them out. Get yourself some Authentic Italian food 💯 you will not be...
Read moreAt their old location, this place was great. At the new location, which was clearly chosen to cater to bougie Baltimore yuppies with no understanding for Italian cuisine, this place is awful. I went to eat lunch in person and the store and restaurant were so overwhelmed, I ended up having one of the worst dining experiences of my life. There was one waitress serving at least 10 tables. Although she seemed nice, she was frazzled and totally overwhelmed since no one else was working. This place needs more waiting staff pronto. First, we asked to eat outside and she promptly sat us inside, no explanation given. Next, we had to beg for menus and we were never given water. It took 30 minutes for us to order since the one waitress kept saying “I’ll be right with you!” and then ignoring us. To be fair to her, she was doing this to everyone. Overall, it took TWO HOURS for what should have been a simple lunch because the service was so slow. Even more, the pizza was awful, the sauce tasted like raw canned tomato sauce. Such a disappointment, and expensive! Two pizzas and two bottles of water (which we only bought because we could not get the waitress to get us glasses for water!), set us back $50! We used to go here all the time for their deli and to buy authentic Italian goods. Clearly they have sold their authenticity for mediocrity since changing locations. Such a...
