You know how barbecues are meant to be fresh with the aroma of a burning grill, steaming hot, gloriously juicy, sentimental of a 4th of July grill-fest? This is the exact polar opposite of that. The meat was room temp. Let me say that again because of how daringly insulting that was. All the meats we ordered were room temperature! They probably interchanged the grill settings with the dining area thermostat! That alone sets you up for the rest of the failures that followed. Because it was room temp, the moisture in the meat disappeared like my appetite. The flavor stayed in the kitchen or wherever they stored that meat prior to serving it because it definitely did not come directly from the grill. The brisket was too salty too like theyre making up for the lack in flavor. If they just fixed the temp issue, they wouldn’t need so much salt. Now, my blood pressures up both from being pissed at the food and the excess sodium! Instead of fulfilling that craving for atherosclerosis-inducing fat and cholesterol Anywhere, I left the restaurant wondering if I should be vegan. Oh and speaking of vegetables, the green beans were soggy, devoid of the good crunchy tenderness of freshly prepped produce. So, essentially, this place made me hate both meat and veggies.
The only saving grace was the mac and cheese which was 4/5. It had this awesome crunchy burnt cheese layer. The sauce was really cheesy.
Too bad though cause the ambience was quite accurate in delivering this all-American, football-loving, invade-your-country-for-crude-oil kinda vibe. They also had photos of passed veterans but if they wanted to show dead things they should just replace those photos with pics of their brisket and ribs.
As I write this review, I’m still salty both literally and...
Read moreI visit this location often and iv never had a bad experience until tonight . Not sure if it was due to the time or not but I may not return to this location after this . I ordered the brisket which is the only entree i purchase at Mission BBQ and I always get moist , I even order extra meat .
When the young lady called me to pick up my meal the brisket was dry and they just gave me pieces of meat . I have never had this happen to me before , again I’m not sure if it was due to it being the end of the night or not but that’s still unacceptable. My meal cost me close to $30 and it’s now trash .
When I asked the young lady about the meat and moisture, she suggested that juice may help so she gave me some in a small container to pour it over the meat. I’m just over all pissed and I plan to travel to another mission bbq if I ever buy anymore.
It’s 9/19 /2025 and it’s 8:40pm . I feel like they gave me that food in that condition because whatever food was left over they kept for themselves . Not to mention the profanity that was used with the talking & jokes amongst each other at the front . It was only one person who used the word but even still I was mind blown because this has never happened & I assume it depends which manager is there and time .
The person who took my order was kind ❤️ This messed up my dinner / night & I’m...
Read moreFrom the moment my partner and I walked into the restaurant, the staff were really friendly and patient because it was my first time. I chose the two meat platter and I ordered the pulled pork and the brisket, moist. The brisket was bringing me to tears! Good lord. And the pulled pork made me passionate about smoked meats. We bought two bottled sodas, which I recommend, and had a beer to split. We sat outside in their patio area and the picnic tables were very clean. Their barbecue sauces were stocked and so were the paper towels. After enjoying our meal, one of the staff members walked outside and chitchatted with us and asked us if we were done with our platters. He then proceeded to clear our placesettings and we didn’t have to lift a finger. After talking to him and telling him it was my first time, he came back out with a sweet potato pie on the house as well as a free sandwich card for the next time I come. I am definitely coming back and bringing a whole lot of business. Thanks guys, awesome experience at a chain restaurant. They even have reserved parking for veterans. And you know old people love that. The food was so good I didn’t have time to take any photos but trust me...
