I so much want to give a decent rating to this place but my conscience doesn't allow me to do so. I can explain the reason behind it as clearly as i can. I have been ordering food from this place for about 5 years. Samosa and Veg momos are my favourites but i have tried many other items in the menu- some are good, some are not so good.

One of my biggest concern with this place is attitude and behavior of the staff of this restaurant.

I used to order via doordash/grubhub initially, then once i started ordering frequently from this place, the owner was thoughtful (at this point it seemed so) and told me that i can call or text them directly and they will deliver the food. This arrangement worked well for a few times but last 2-3 orders have been messed up by the restaurant some way or other. And when i let them know about the issue, they royally ignore it and dont even care to respond or apologize for the mess-up (once i received heavily undercooked meat and on other occasion, i received less quantity of order than what i had originally ordered). I still have the text messages of me reporting the concerns/issues to the restaurant but no one acknowledging it from their end. I dont expect this kind of attitude. If i were ordering via a delivery app, they would have taken care of these kind of unfortunate mess ups, but by ordering directly from the restaurant, i have suffered losses on multiple occasions. As a result of which, i have stopped ordering from this place and will not order from here in future. Even if i change my mind and decide to order from here in future, it would be via one of the delivery apps so that issues (if any) with the order can be looked into and resolved...

I must say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a delivery order. I placed my order on the restaurant’s website because I was told by them on a previous delivery they have their own drivers and don’t want to pay Grubhubs fees. Cool, no problem. An hour later I get a call from a woman at the restaurant yelling at me telling me the driver has been waiting 20 minutes and has called me three times. I explain to her that this is the first I’ve heard from them and that I am home and he can come to the door. She continues to scream at me and tell me the driver is outside which he wasn’t. I called her back and was still being berated about giving her the wrong number. I said, ā€œhow did you call me first if you have the wrong number? The only reason I continued with this madness was that I had spent $35 and it would have been a pain to get my money back cause I used their site instead of Grubhub. Finally the driver calls me on the right number and shows me that she wrote a 3 as my last digit of my phone number and mine is 6. She was completely in the wrong and could have been totally avoid if she had just said the driver is coming right back please keep a lookout. Moral of the story. Just use Grubhub. You try to be cool because it’s a small business but you get screwed. I’m half tempted to order Grubhub from all my friends phones and place complaints we didn’t get our food. I’m usually not petty but this...

This place is tucked away.. we had carryout and it was the best indian Ive had in a while If you’re searching for a culinary experience that blends the rich, bold flavors of Indian cuisine with the subtle, aromatic tastes of Nepalese dishes, Himalayan House in Baltimore is a must-visit. This restaurant stands out as a haven for those who appreciate authentic, hearty, and beautifully spiced meals.

Food Quality and Flavor

The food at Himalayan House is exceptional. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from Indian staples like Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh to Nepalese specialties like Momos (dumplings) and Goat Curry.

The Chicken Tikka Masala is creamy, perfectly spiced, and full of flavor, while the Palak Paneer strikes the right balance of creamy spinach and tender paneer cubes. Their Tandoori Chicken arrives sizzling hot and is wonderfully tender with a smoky, charred flavor.

The Nepalese Momos are a must-try—they’re steamed to perfection and served with a spicy tomato-based dipping sauce that’s bursting with flavor. For curry lovers, the Goat Curry is tender, rich, and deeply satisfying, showcasing the unique spices and cooking techniques of Nepalese cuisine.

Service

The service at Himalayan House is warm and attentive. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure diners feel welcome and comfortable, often explaining dishes and making thoughtful...

You don't come here for the atmosphere - there isn't enough here to even call this a "joint" - you come here for the food. Nepalese-Indian and I'm not enough of an expert to tell you the difference, but it's all delightful and masterfully prepared. Bonus points for the extensive menu which, for this amateur gourmand, is impressive given the scope and variety of the offerings. The staff is uniformly polite and quite helpful. If I must impose a suggestion on you, dear reader, and here I will, you should, when asked, request they spice the dishes on the higher end of the scale as it will make all and sundry more flavorful without overpowering the palette.

This was such a treat! We ordered the Himalayan Feast and goodness, the amount of food was enormous! Everything tasted so good and service was outstanding. We ordered online and picked up. My favorite was the vegetable pakora. The naan bread was so good with everything or eaten alone. It wasn't spicy at all but had the right amount of spice. Definitely meant for more than two people :) Absolutely a wonderful dinner!
