In the course of becoming a regular here, I neglected to write a review. This place is nowhere near my house (I live closer to basically every brewery in Baltimore), but I make a point to stop here every week because what these folks are doing is "best of Baltimore" status.
First and foremost, the beers: on the hop side, they are using new aromatic hops and making dry, often hazy, fruit forward pales and IPAs. While knocking it out of the park with these trendier styles, they also consistently have beers on tap showcasing grain, structure and balance. Perhaps most impressively, over the last year they have stepped up their lager game and made sure to have low gravity options on draft to balance against their 7% offerings. I'm really impressed by the beers they are making, and I continue to find new and interesting hop profiles and styles.
Beyond beer, these are some the kindest people I've met in the beer/service/bar industry in Baltimore. Their bartenders are excellent and typically handle large crowds well, and are each great for conversation when things are slow. The space is beautiful with a wonderful patio area, and it is a rare place where I can have a beer in the afternoon (on some days) and get work done. Soon they'll be moving to a food menu , and based on their current charcuterie program, I'm sure the pizzas will...
Read moreI visted a local friend who lives a few blocks from the brewery. We decided to go visit on Friday evening March 12th around 9pm. The door greeter seemed annoyed that the we were even there. Our server at table 10 while initially friendly and averagely communicative gave a flippant attitude when I tried to order 3 crowlers after having ordered a couple beers. He said "I can't do crowlers right now on a Friday night because its too busy, feel free to purchase some 4 packs." He was quite cold in his response. Why even have it on the menu? A brewery to busy to fill crowlers?! Diamondback must be too busy to provide the product advertised. After not seeing our server for approximately 20 minutes we left cash on the table and left. Our server then chased us across the parking lot yelling that we forgot to pay. I have never felt as embarased and unwelcome and shunned at any establishment. Based on this experience I will never visit diamondback or drink their beers again, bad vibe, terrible service. I will spread the word regarding how you treat customers and...
Read moreWe held our wedding reception here and a blast was had by all. The space is nice and intimate inside and out, and the patio is decorated beautifully so not much was needed by us in terms of decoration. The pizza during the event was on point and everyone loved the grab and go buffet style. All of my craft beer drinking friends loved every beer they had and even the older heads who have been drinking the same domestic light beer for 40 years and never try anything new were able to find something they like. The staff was AMAZING. Everything from the initial communications and coordination of the event to helping my mom store and carry her many desserts. They were ever so nice and did a good job dealing with my ever so thirsty friends and family. I recommend booking them for an event, but also stopping in for a pizza and a beer on a nice afternoon. A well ran joint! We have received nothing but glowing reviews how much everyone...
