I love the food here and I have for years, but I'm appalled by the service I just got. My friend and I ordered carryout, and it started storming when we got our pizza so we sat at a table to wait it out.

The storm was lasting a while so we went to the counter to ask for water, both of us were willing to pay and a waitress was bringing the water to put at our table when her boss came and yelled at her, saying that because we ordered takeout we couldnt get water or eat at a table.

Normally I would've been fine with this, because we DID order takeout, but she was being extremely rude, and speaking to us as if we weren't paying customers. Rather than coming up with a solution, or simply asking us to pay for the water/a table, she yelled at us and made us feel as if we were trying to steal from the buisness.

As we sat and waited for the storm to pass, we witnessed this same woman belittling and being very very rude, zenophobic, and racist to a spanish speaking door dasher who was also waiting out the storm. She treated him as if he was a child because he was speaking Spanish, which offended me greatly, especially because of the large latino population that is currently facing enogh discrimination in this neighborhood. I truely hope that not all latino patrons are discriminated against at this restaurant in the way I saw today.

Now I understand where she was coming from and her requests but the way she talked to many people who were supporting the buisness was unacceptable. My friend and I felt alienated and unwelcome, all while we were just trying to wait out a storm.

Its not about treating your costumers like royalty, its about acting with basic human empathy and understanding. If she had handled the situation slightly differently, three people would've left the buisness that day much happier. I ask that the employees be talked to about how to treat their customers...

As I stepped into Matthew’s Pizza, I carried with me the faint hope that Baltimore’s famed pizzeria might transport me to a world of culinary delight. What awaited, however, was an experience I shan’t soon forget—but not for the reasons one might hope.

The pizza arrived, its appearance promising, but the first bite unraveled all illusions.

The crust—ah, the crust!—was a barren wasteland, !!!! dry and lifeless, with all the personality of cardboard. It seemed to disintegrate upon the tongue, leaving nothing but disappointment in its wake. Some would say (Grade school pizza taste better)….oooof!!!!

The cheese, too, bore its own tragedy: overcooked and burnt, its flavor was as bitter as my growing dismay. Each bite was a struggle, a dance of charred mediocrity and absent charm.

And yet, amidst the ruins of this culinary calamity, there was a single, glimmering hope: the tomatoes. Sweet, tangy, and vibrant, my sister said:

“they sang with the brightness of the Mediterranean sun” Tiara hall

It was as if they had wandered onto the wrong stage, lost among actors unworthy of their brilliance……… But alas, even their radiance could not save the dish from its ultimate fate. The pizza lacked the depth, the soul, the aftertaste that lingers like a fond memory. Instead, it vanished as quickly as it arrived, leaving me empty and unsatisfied.

Matthew’s Pizza, a name that once carried a legacy, delivered not a masterpiece, but a shadow of what could have been. To craft pizza is an art, one that demands passion, precision, and care. Without these, one is left not with a triumph, but a mere approximation ….a fleeting echo of greatness, drowned in mediocrity. Baltimore...

We wanted to like this place because of all the great reviews. We ordered Anna's Stuffed Pie with all 3 meats, roasted red pepper, and green peppers, the Fiery Hawaiian, and The Great White Veggie pizza. My son was looking for something like the stuffed pizza from Papa Murphy's. This was the only pizza place I could find via Google with a stuffed pizza. He said the Papa Murphy's pizza was 10 times better. He said this pizza had soggy wet bread and the 3 meats didn't go well together. My husband said it was more like a Subway Italian BMT, not a pizza. The meat looked and tasted like it was lunch meat. The Hawaiian was not liked because of the onions. 4 kids and my husband said the onions and the jalapenos overpowered the pizza. The Great White Veggie left a film in my husband's mouth. He says it was the same film he gets when he eats unwashed spinach from a bag. The mushrooms also looked like canned mushrooms and tasted like canned mushrooms too. We come from the West Coast so we probably don't know what we are talking about but Papa Murphy's won this battle according to my kids and husband. I couldn't eat because of a gluten and dairy intolerance but I wasn't impressed with the paper plates the pizza was wrapped in. The plates were moist and hard to carry by the time I got home and we live about a mile from this place. Next door sits the Mystic Burrito. I ordered a Diablo Chicken Burrito on a plate without the tortilla. It...
