Food was quite good and the portions were generous.
This was my first time ordering from this establishment. Unfortunately I violated my personal tip policy and provided a 10% tip in anticipation of having a positive meal and customer service experience.
I typically tip for my previous order when ordering take-out. I find it illogical to tip without experiencing anything to tip for.
Though the meal was good and worth a return visit, the customer service needs improvement.
I walked in, made eye contact with the employee at the register who also appeared to be one of the cooks, announced my first name and that I was there to pickup a mobile order.
The employee handed me the bag with my order, which was stapled closed. I asked if there were 2 sets of utensils in the bag, which I had clearly requested in the notes section of the GrubHub order-processing app when placing the order.
(I ordered food for 2, as I was having dinner with my friend who is undergoing stem-cell replacement therapy at the nearby Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.)
The man’s response was that he didn’t know if there were utensils in the bag because he wasn’t the person who packed the meal in the bag. He seemed taken aback that I would ask him such a question.
Another man seated and eating at the other end of the counter from where I was standing, spoke up and confidently indicated that the utensils were in fact in the bag. I assumed he must work there and perhaps had something to do with preparing my order for pickup.
I thanked that man for assuring me that utensils were inside the stapled bag.
When I arrived to the hospital to partake in dinner with my friend, we found there were absolutely no utensils in the bag.
Though mistakes happen, the employee I had initially asked about the presence of utensils should have taken upon himself the caring initiative to open the bag and check for me.
As a retired customer service executive, if that employee worked in my organization he would have been reprimanded and provided additional schooling on the importance of caring for the customer.
Customer care is a vitally important element to a business’...

Mystic Burrito is open! On Eastern where Avenue Sushi was, next to Matthew’s Pizza. Happened to walk by today and saw the Open sign lit, it’s a soft opening so they haven’t advertised yet. I was customer #2 and give it a big 👍
The guy running the place is Alex, longtime surfer who grew up here but learned to love this food living on the California coast and in Baja (Mexico). Interesting talkative guy passionate about what he’s doing.
Somewhat long, eclectic menu (he said it might lighten up once he figures out what sells best), authentic California and Baja Mexican burritos/tacos/etc. with Filipino, Hawaiian and other influences – he surfed around the world in New Zealand, Australia, etc. Initial menu is shown below, some items are not yet available because he’s still stocking up and not doing fish tacos until business picks up so he can make sure it’s always fresh!
I had the Pork Sisig Taco Plate - Alex said it’s modeled on pork tacos he used to get at a place in CA run by Filipino & Mexican guys (they made it from head meat, he uses shoulder or butt). He made it extra spicy just the way I like and the black beans were excellent too! topped with shredded cheese he sources from an Amish dairy farmer, his own velvety roasted pineapple habanero sauce on the side - Alex said “be careful dude, it’s really hot!” but woweee it’s good so I’m saving every drop I didn’t use for future slathering.
I will definitely be returning to explore this...
Read moreI’m sad to give a 4/5… this includes the service and the food. We unfortunately waited about 90 minutes for our food while eating in. The people we were with got their food in around 15 minutes. When I checked after around an hour I was told it was being worked on..around 30 minutes later I was told that they got ordered mixed up. Whatever- just an extremely long wait and no apology or any offering of something.
The Hawaiian steak burrito didn’t have onion rings which was disappointing- especially after waiting so long. The fried chicken burrito was outstanding and gets a 5/5. The vibe in the place is super super cool. Overall disappointed the service was pretty poor and the burrito did not come as described but overall vibe and freshness...
