Ronnie's Lunch is located inside The Northeast Market. They seem to be pretty popular for fried chicken. They sell it by the pieces, as different combination plates and etc. There is always some sort of line here. It was my first time getting anything from here, so before I ordered, I had to intently stare at the menu (partially because I couldn't see what was on it very well LOL)
I finally decided on a Combination Plate with 3 Thighs and Fries. Being in the line was literally like being a part of a factory line. You had to hurry up and choose what you wanted. There are people in front of and behind you in line.
The younger dude helping me asked me what sauces I wanted on my food. I saw a lineup along the plexiglass of different non see through metal canisters, no labels on anything. I asked him what he recommended? Cause I didn't know what the options were or what were in the canisters by just looking at them because I don't have x-ray vision.
He just shrugged and literally didn't put anything on my food. LOL W H A T. Then he bagged my food and set it down by the cashier. I guess his recommendations is air? Or whatever. shoulder shrugs
I paid for my food and took it home. Super confused. Could you imagine if you went to the doctor and asked what treatment options were recommended because you didn't know what options were. But instead of saying anything, the doctor shrugs, leaves and closes the door? That would be wild right?
Upon further research, the fried chicken is pretty legit. I'm not gonna lie. It definitely gives Popeyes a run for it's money. The batter is slightly seasoned (thank God because I need more flavor than air dude) and it was very crispy. The fries on the other hand could've been decorative for what they added to the plate. Maybe it's because they were hot and built slight condensation in the bag, they were super soggy and sad. Some of the middle parts of the wedges even felt undercooked. More confusion.
If you want to be a Psyduck Pokémon, come here. You're bound to be very confused. Would I recommend it? Maybe if you're only getting chicken by the pieces, maybe. Would I samples again?...
Read moreI have been coming here for years and never had a problem. Even with the hike in prices I still supported this establishment. Yesterday took the cake for me. Their customer service sucks. Especially the lady on the register. She don't greet you. She just rings you up and says nothing. Don't tell you your total or nothing. Then when she gives you your food she just slams it on the counter like you're bothering her. I just don't understand. Why work in a public setting if you don't wanna show yourself friendly? This is our hard earned money that we don't have to give to your establishment and to treat us like we aren't good enough to purchase food is ludicrous. When the original owners ran it things were fine. This new management is horrible and I will never purchase from there again. You can't be mean to the patrons where the majority of your money comes from. It just do...
Read moreI ordered 4 tenders and fries from here for my son. Though the food was good, not great, I was shocked that it cost over $15 for the food. Yes I understand that food is more expensive than before but $15 for 4 tenders and fries is ridiculous. I only ordered it because it was for my son. Maybe if it included a drink I would be okay with the price, but it didn't. And it was difficult ordering because the guy taking my order was behind the shelves and plastic or glass protector. So I couldn't understand what he was saying until he stepped over to the register area. They told me 7 minutes, so I went somewhere else to order drinks and my food. I ordered a sandwich and 2 drinks and came back, but my food still wasn't ready. It was definitely 7 minutes after I left. Time is very important to me, especially when you are parked at a...
