Highway Deli Mart — Restaurant in Bandon

We used to like coming to this place, until they hired a lady, who serves the people at the counter, who ONLY complains about her body ailments. I am not talking, once in a while, I am referring to EVERY CUSTOMER that comes in "oh my back hurts, this thing is wrong with me..." The last time she proceeds to tell us SHE HAS SHINGLES! She is serving FOOD PEOPLE! For those that may think this is no big deal, well Yes, someone with shingles can shed the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox, to individuals who haven't had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine, but not shingles itself. GROSS! Go home. Get better. Sorry for your bad luck, but I don't want to catch your virus at this store, and after a long, hard days work...I'm sorry but I can't take your negativity and Victim mentality. Got to get there before the lunch rush, or they run out of a lot of good things to eat. Prices are ok. Restroom leaves a LOT to be desired. Typically out of seat covers, TP, paper towels, and soap. I stop at this store each and every time I go through Bandon. I love the friendly service, and they are one of the only stores in the surrounding counties that have Butter Rum Lifesavers. (lol) Seriously they often have fresh baked goods and other goodies that are very tasty and not many stores carry those things anymore. I think it's a good place to stop if you're driving through.
