UPDATE: Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this café.
I ordered a breakfast burrito online and asked for no cheese, as I have a dairy allergy. I would GLADLY eat cheese, but I can't without reacting.
When I went to pick up my order, the employee and her coworker didn't know I was standing at the counter and were making fun of my non-dairy burrito and complaining about the online ordering system (and how I'd placed my order). Then, when they realized I was standing there, they told me the burrito couldn't be made without cheese and had to refund me. They didn't address their conversation; they simply acted like nothing had happened.
I was embarrassed and upset about the entire experience. I will never go back.
I hope this serves as a lesson to the employees to be mindful of what they're saying and who they're saying it in front of. Not only did I hear the entire exchange, but an older gentlemen sitting at the back of the café did as well.
Overall, this business needs to have some kinks worked out.
**Original review:
As a vegan, there are very few options for takeout on the coast. Everything is fish, clam chowder, burger, or more fish.
This is why I was elated to find Bandon Coffee Cafe - they have two or three vegan options that are fairly good. Plus, staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.
My only complaint is orders are sometimes mixed up or things are left out. For example: I ordered a smoothie with almond milk on a Saturday afternoon and it was made with regular milk. I've developed an allergy to dairy and could tell it was regular cow's milk due to having a mild reaction. And on Sunday morning, I placed an order for a breakfast sandwich and turnover, but realized after I drove away that the turnover I paid $2.25 for wasn't in the bag.
Overall, though, this is a great cafe and one I would...
Read moreI honestly hate to write reviews like this, but we unfortunately had a bad experience here. We stopped in to order breakfast, ordering two breakfast sandwiches and a cookie since they looked great in the display (and the cookie was good!). The cookie was given to us right away, so we took a seat and waited for our sandwiches.
After 25 minutes, we went to ask about the delay, as it wasn’t busy, and it was clear they had forgotten our order. The woman at the counter, who didn’t seem particularly friendly but I want to believe was just having a bad day, made up some excuse about a new system not sending orders to the kitchen without offering an apology.
Since we were on a tight schedule, we asked to cancel and get a refund, which she agreed to. Only later did we find out the refund didn’t include the 18% tip we had added to the order. I understand not refunding the cookie, as we ate it, but the tip should have been returned since the service we tipped for was never provided.
It left a bit of a stain on our experience in Bandon, which was...
Read moreAMAZING food and coffee! However, I ordered a rise and shine which is supposed to have tomato & avocado. I only received ham and cheese but decided it was fine and I wasn’t going to say anything. I went back a 2nd time for a 2nd cup of coffee. I wanted a white sugar free mocha 12oz, $4.25. It rang as $5.25. I asked the girl why and she said she didn’t know. I said well it’s advertised as $4.25, she said it was ringing as $5.25. She then got a manager and manager said it’s ringing up as that and they need to update their sign. I said there should at least be a sign saying the prices are higher until you do update it. It’s not about the $1.00 but more so the principal and the lack of customer service. There was nothing she would do. I paid $5.25 and mentioned that when I came earlier, my sandwich didn’t have tomato or avocado. She said “thanks for your feedback”. I guess I was looking more for an apology for the 2 negative experiences back to back. Food and coffee were...
