I don't have any dietary restrictions, however, my GF does. She doesn't eat most seafood or pork for religious reasons. We asked for a substitution of chicken instead of pork in the combination menu (chicken chow mein instead of pork and chicken fried rice instead of pork). At first was told she had to order a combination that didn't include pork dishes and substitute the rice for steamed... of all the combinations only one meets that and it has shrimp (we had explained her restrictions before asking). Basically told no substitution except replacing the rice.... We pointed out there menu says it allows substitutions and was presented with a second server. (I guess the first one didn't like our request or thought it was too hard). This new server tried to help us put together a combination that works. When we had settled on something, they came back when my food was done to inform us that the vegetarian dish she had asked for with her chicken chow mien, contains pork.... yep pork. In a vegetarian dish.... so she pivoted and gave up on the combination. This began the Well does this have pork or shrimp line of questioning with the servers confused by the whole encounter. She settled on spring rolls (which were cooked in old fry oil and super oily) and orange chicken with steamed rice. That was pretty good. My food was ok. The pork fried rice looked well mixed but was bland. Tasted like plain steamed rice. This is a bit long-winded and probably a niche problem, however, Bandon is dependent on tourism and we got the feeling the staff didn't want us there once we said she didn't eat... Perhaps your experience will be better, however, I cannot recommend this place to anyone with dietary...

Read moreThe good: price (ton of food for $25), and I liked that they don't automatically give utensils and napkins since in my experience most people are taking take-out home, and therefore don't need that stuff. The bad: We were staying at a hotel, and needed the utensils that weren't there. They should at least ask if you need forks or chopsticks in my opinion... maybe it's the norm in Oregon, but every Chinese place I've ever gotten take-out from (I'm from CA) includes utensils so I assumed they would be there. Anyway, the bigger issue for me is the quality of the food... it wasn't terrible, but almost everything was deep fried (we got the "Cantonese Family Dinner" for 2), with the one exception being the almond chicken chow mein. Except, it wasnt chow mein exactly.. the noodles were super thin, like angel hair pasta, and the veggies were "blah" (frozen peas, onions, a tiny bit of celery and carrot). Again, it wasn't inedible, but nothing to write home about. The eggrolls were huge (good), and the chicken inside the thick layer of fried breading seemed to be good quality (another good). Overall though a pretty disappointing meal. This was my first and last time...
