BF and I went here about a week ago. We were just walking around the downtown area and saw it was a little lively so we walked in. So glad we did as it turned out the owner was behind the bar and she can make some really killer drinks! If you haven't been here you are really missing out. So many great drinks to try. Thankfully we shared the ones we got. First off the bloody mary's here are awesome. You can get the classic or one with bacon. Both are delicious, so try both. Then they have a ginger lime gimlet, a concoction she made that is so refreshing it's dangerous. Goes down smooth and perfect for a summer day, you'll want to swing by to refresh your day with this drink or a great hangover fixer. Another great refreshing drink was the strawberry basil smash. So refreshing, great for anytime of the year as it will remind you of a summers day. If you are in the mood for a margarita, look no farther as she has not only the classic but others. Two unique ones are prickly pear and habnero cucumber. Both fantastic with fresh ingredients and the habnero has just the right amount of kick. If those don't rock your boat, you should try her Sea Cucumber drink. Very refreshing but not overpowering on the cucumber, perfectly balanced. Whatever kind of drink you are wanting, I highly recommend coming here. The drinks are spectacular and not of the true norm in bars. And don't worry beer and wine lover's, she's got you covered in that too. :) Although we didn't eat there, the food I saw come out looked great. The owner truly believes in fresh ingredients. You should definitely check it out as this is a hidden gem you don't...
Read moreThis place was recommended to us from our hotel front desk when we asked for a healthy child friendly restaurant to eat dinner at. When we arrived it was mainly a bar with seating for the restaurant portion. But it really is a bar. I would not call this child friendly atmosphere. Our waitress wasn't all that friendly and seemed very stressed out.
But the worst part was a young man sitting at the bar talking to two other women. He was very loud and progressed to get even louder. His conversation was raunchy, gross, demeaning to women, lewd and outright X-rated. Things I cannot repeat here or anywhere. It was upsetting many tables. When the food finally arrived, which took over an hour, we had to ask for it to go because I could not continue to expose my children to the vile conversation. Several other people had to leave. One of the tables called over the manager. The manager finally went to the man and asked him to stop. The man then had the nerve to go to that table and try to explain himself. The woman at the table said she was mostly embarrassed for our table and that our children had to hear all of his filth. It was then we overheard that he actually worked at that restaurant which is why they didn't cut him off from the bar in the first place.
The restaurant did comp our dinner and we left a full tip. When I went back to the hotel and explaind to them what happened and suggested they should probably remove this off of their family friendly recommendations list, they replied that it's usually a pleasant experience for their guests. I will...
Read more3.5 stars here. be aware Bandon at this time appears to be a town that closes up almost completely at 7pm. Very few choices for dinner and those open are very crowded. after finding a 45-minute wait at another establishment, chose to land here for a meal. As with many, many restaurants these days, it was clear on this night they were low on staff. Other reviews have pointed this out and a good number of those clearly don’t understand the challenges facing food service staff in these times and don’t have the patience to work with it. Let me say up front that the 2 ladies working the floor during our visit did a wonderful job of handling the service for all the customers, even as the tables filled up with diners. Menu here not extensive or fancy IMO. Wife chose the fish and chips which she found delicious and so did I with the pieces she shared. Clearly fresh fish hand breaded just before cooking. Large portion of fish. Standard fries and coleslaw were fine. I chose a Chicken Caesar wrap that the kitchen kindly left off the listed buffalo sauce. Not my thing. Nice ratio of chicken to lettuce and a tangy Caesar dressing made this very tasty. Fry portion seemed small compared to other entrée. All in all an above average meal in a...
