White House Chicken Systems Inc — Restaurant in Barberton

I am giving 5 stars because historically, I have had minimal issues & I don't like to complain when I haven't had the opportunity to give a fair review of my previous experiences & I LOVE WH Chicken above all of the other Barberton joints.. But, I will say the last 2 times I've ordered from this location, the quality seems different. Last time the week of Xmas, I was missing Cole Slaw.. And I noticed the mashed potatoes used to be flavorful and a little tangy aftertaste which was wonderful pre-covid era But, now there is just something different about them that I can't figure out. This time I'm not sure if the fryer oil needs changed or the tenders were cooked too long But, there is a bitter taste similar to a mild burnt flavor or oil that needs to be changed. Years of going and I've never had issues until recently. The Cole Slaw & Hot Rice are as delicious as ever and save the day, regardless!! Maybe I just caught them on an off night so, I'm sure we will be back.. But, driving from Akron to get an occasional chicken fix when the family asks what I want to pickup for dinner might not be my first choice anymore. I hope your team is able to power through and rise above whatever the reasons (staffing, cost of goods, etc.) behind these situations is & get back to the great quality & consistency that I've grown to love...

I live 2,000 miles away and make sure to get Barberton chicken every time I come home back to visit. When I lived here THIS is the location I always went to and swore by it. After talking to my parents they said “don’t bother, go somewhere else” but I couldn’t reach any other location. After my experience Sunday May 12, I will NEVER go to this location ever again. The first complaint (and honestly the biggest) was how I was treated on the phone. I understand it’s Mother’s Day and you’re more than likely tired and also had 40 minutes before you closed (which is why I was polite and pleasant when ordering) BUT I’ve never been talked to like that by an employee ANYWHERE EVER. I own my own restaurant and if I overheard someone handling a phone call like that I would have fired them immediately. My mom told me I should have immediately canceled my order- but I HAD to have my chicken. The second complaint I had was the food. The chicken tasted super sweet, the coleslaw had NO flavor and the hot sauce had very little rice in it. The fries were really good but that’s not why I went there. My son and I have been going here for 10 years. I can promise this will be my last visit. First of all, my son, who is 22 now, and I placed our own orders. We rode together and went in together to pick up our separate orders. I, a white woman, was greeted, asked how I was, offered sauces and thanked for my purchase by the owner, who was running the register. My son, who is ethnic, was not spoken to, greeted, thanked or even offered sauces. I let that go, we figure people miss out on a lot living in their own ignorance. My son is one of the most respectful, intelligent young men I know. Anyway, then we get home to eat. Well, they went cheap on their Togo containers now. The cardboard containers were actually tearing apart as we tried to open them. Then, besides the tenders having shrunk, they were full of gristle and some had a plastic like texture under the breading.
