BIG WALLYS ICE CREAM & MORE — Restaurant in Bardstown

This place is new to Bardstown and the storefront is a great addition to the look of the downtown area, BUT, this place is new and there are always some growing pains for a new business while getting adjusted. I will be more than happy to update my review as these things get better. So, I agree with the other reviews (all of which gave 5 stars with no mention of any negative feedback, but how will they improve without feedback?) that the look of this place is great and the ice cream is even better. Here is MY constructive criticism; The wait time for a milkshake was a little longer than I would have liked, but again, they're new and still trying to getting into their flow. On the other hand, scoops of ice cream come out fast. The biggest complaint I have is the lids to the cups. My shake lid did not fit my cup very well at all and the employee knew it as she handed me my order by saying "I don't know what it is with these lids today but they're just not fitting very well", as it drips all over the counter. I used atleast 7 napkins to get the cup to a manageable state where I felt I didn't have to leave it on the counter while I ate it. How bad did it fit, you ask? I finished my shake in record time because like I said, it tasted great, but as an empty cup with a lonely cherry laying in the bottom, I could not pick the empty cup up by the lid without it popping off. A couple of days ago I walked into this store with my wife and son. We walked into the store and were not greeted with a “hello” or a “can I help you?” What we saw were empty ice cream containers in the freezer and three high school kids in the front by the cash register. They were talking about the tip jar to who is going out with who at the school. Now these kids are standing in the front of the cash register and didn’t acknowledge us. Finally after 20 minutes of standing there waiting to be waited on, I finally had to say “can someone please help me?” With this they looked startled, like how dare you interrupt our conversation. We finally got our ice cream and left shortly after. Wally’s needs to have an adult manager on duty to make sure these kids are doing their jobs. I can say we will never be back for ice...

Omg! Where do I start? The staff are absolutely amazing. They were very quick and efficient with my order. Everything was correct. Austin made me the most delicious cookies and cream milkshake. I also had a hot dog, cole slaw, potato salad and nachos. Everything was so good. I can't wait to come back. I drove all the way from Louisville, Ky to visit this place.
