TE'AMO Boba & Desserts - South Barrington — Restaurant in Barrington Township

This is how "fresh" the Coconut Double there is. "Double" here I guess is for 1) Coconut and 2) MOLD.

Went here for Mother's Day to pick up my online order (2pcs Cheesecake Bao by Blend, Coconut Double, Ube Dalgona Coffee W/Boba, Dalgona Coffee w Boba, & TE'AMO O2). Happy to say we were satisfied with our drinks and even the Cheesecake Baos. I was shocked to say the least, that the Coconut Double was ENTIRELY COVERED IN MOLD when I opened it at home.

Service was also meh. I pre-ordered online for pickup, seeing that if I ordered for delivery, the order would not arrive until 11:30 or later because the store does not open until 11am. Online order states it will be ready for pickup at 11am. I arrive at 11:07am, and while I think it is reasonable for me to think that the order might not be ready due to the store just opening, I walk into the store seeing the staff member on their phone, not working on fulfilling my order, or any order for that matter, and inform her that I have an order to pickup. I wait nearly another 20 minutes for my order to be completed as the only customer that morning. She was interrupted in making my order by a manager from the @EVEREVE store next door, a NON-PAYING CUSTOMER, asking the TE'AMO employee to fill a tub of ice for her. Instead of telling the @EVEREVE lady that she would help her out as soon as she was done with my order, she helped that non paying customer. I paid nearly $50 on my order and not only was it not being worked on when I came in, it was further delayed by helping someone who wasn't even a customer. Priorities...

Honestly didn’t expect much from this place, it literally looks too cute to be credible. But I am glad I went, the one girl behind the desk was excellent. We had a donut it was great. Different. But great. The drink was also great. Some of the drinks are highly customizable I would recommend knowing what u like and don’t like. When u have a place that can customize your drink to this level, u can be your own worst enemy… my wife. Had to remind her not to get to creative, this is a boutique place. Not a Starbucks . If u want boring Starbucks go there order something u don’t like it order ur normal order. Thai tea less sugar is what we went for, and they nailed. Last, I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. Lol. I’m assuming the locals here are use to Michelin 5 star quality and service everywhere they go, How to enjoy this place, go, take a deep breath in, sit. Take in all the pink, order something, wait chill and enjoy the company of who you came with. sit. Eat. drink. leave. I will bring my nieces when they visit. They will love...

Opening day was a MESS!! Very unorganized and couldn’t handle all the business with line of customers out the door in the cold. 10-15 “employees” just standing around inside and taking up space when customers had to wait outside. After ordering, drinks took about 30 minutes. Asked for a carrier for the drinks and a flimsy cardboard was provided. No handle and if not held right, all the drinks will spill. Other issue as seen in the pictures is none of the lids stayed on the drinks. The employee had to tape the lids. Spending $$ and they don’t even have the proper equipment for the drinks. The only thing you could taste in the brown sugar latte was sweetness, no milk tea flavor at all. The boba was chewy and tasty but not with the hassle and money for a tasteless drink.
