As a new establishment, I believe it’s essential for this salon to receive honest feedback to help refine its services during the early stages. I’ll focus on the men’s section, as that was my experience. The salon’s interior is outstanding, definitely one of the best I’ve visited.

My barber, Nick, was a great guy, but the haircut I received didn’t live up to expectations, especially for the price. I requested a mid-fade, which typically involves meticulous brushing after each pass with the clippers to ensure a clean and sharp fade. Unfortunately, this crucial step was overlooked. No brush or hair dryer was used to remove the remnants of cut hair, leaving me feeling unkempt.

Perhaps fades aren’t the salon’s strength, but at this price point, barbering skills should include proficient fades. Additionally, the service felt rushed. In most barbershops, achieving a proper fade can take around an hour or at least 50 minutes, often for less money. Given the salon’s upscale location in Barrington, I understand the higher price point might reflect rent costs, but for $45, I expected a more thorough and attentive service.

Moreover, the services included in the $45 fee—detailed on their website as including a custom haircut with shampoo, conditioner, head massage, and a neck shave, followed by drying and styling for wet cuts—were not offered to me. This oversight was particularly disappointing.

The appointment ended with a subtle prompt about tipping on a piece of paper. While I appreciate the courtesy and always intend to tip, the combination of the rushed service and the inadequate haircut made the extra cost hard to justify.

Some might ask why I didn’t voice my concerns at the time. I prefer to observe how a business operates during my first visit to truly understand their standard service level, which in turn informs my decision on whether to return.

By no means is this a terrible place, and this review isn’t intended to disparage the salon as a whole. It is simply a critique of a specific area that needs improvement. I absolutely love this elegant and Beautiful salon and spa. Everyone does a fantastic job from hair to facials I had a facial from Jessica today and it was fantastic. She was a perfectionist. I was so relaxed and I have a spinal disease so for me to be relaxed says a lot when she was done my face looked beautiful. It glowed and she did such a wonderful massage and head massage. I could've laid there all day, so thank you Jessica for such a great job. I will be back again.
