This is my first review and it's honest as a African-American male who is honest and respectful and I hope that other concious citizens and human beings who know that I don't hate this is on hopes that people who spit and snot in your food doesn't happen to you. I liked this place and after coming back for some years I was treated with the lowest of disrespect. I just don't know why me.
I will be honest this place as a black person who loves I will be honest this place as a black person who loves and respect my Mexican family. I was treated with disrespect. I bought a California burrito with guacamole and maybe that was bad but I liked guacomole. And this Older Mexican guy with a hat and there was a fatter Mexican younger male with a hat and older Mexican woman. The Older male with the hat took my order and was cooking my food and I heard the cook the younger fat male making spitting sounds and blowing his nose while the older man was cooking my food. The older lady there gave me that look like ugh suspect when she handed me back my food I looked into my burrito it was extra greasy with bubbles on the guacomole so I thew the food away. After. I gave them also my money. My experience is. Don't treat a respectful black. Person who loves Mexicans people as the black culture as well. I feel anybody who would do this around food especially a customer has no respect and I will never support this business as a humble black person. I know Barstow has its issues with drugs and suspected people who are shady but there are honest respectful Christians who live here who aren't shady thieves and work hard for there money. The gentleman with the hat while he was on his phone making snot noises spitting noises around the grill shouldn't be so disrespectful around people's food and know. That your ego is not appreciated nor is his hatred towards Black's. Blacks aren't the problem drugs and people's mental states are the issue especially In Barstow everyone Ibcluding me works hard for there dollar. respect my...
Read moreAmigos is my clear-cut choice as Barstow's best taco shop, edging out some stiff competition based upon two dramatic advantages: a drive-thru and its twenty-four hours of daily operation. The location was formerly a Naugles where both my mother and oldest brother worked several decades ago, but good and generous Mexican entrees at fair prices have made this place the late-night King of West Barstow's food shops. I suggest trying either the Carne Asada or Adobada Chips or Fries or the budget-friendly Bean Burrito, all of which provide a meal and maybe more for a leftovers lunch the next day. Currently, they have Posole on weekends and everyday their red sauce has a delicious fiery kick and their green a wonderful flavor and a lot less lip-burning. Others may do slightly better renditions of an entree here or there, but they close far too early and often provide portions that leave you not fully satisfied. Amigos is consistent in quality and quantity and that drive-thru that never closes of theirs cements them as the best taco shop in Barstow (Bonus: located on famous Route 66 in West Barstow across the street...
Read moreI was recommended to amigos, so I gave it a shot. I did get a quesadilla and Carne Asada fries. Was not impressed they were very bland, no flavor whatsoever. And I don’t even think it was asada in my fries it was too thick to be asada. The place really needs to season their food. And for the quesadillas, bland as well and my cheese wasn’t melted they were areas in it that were still cheese. The heat never touched it. Sad to say I couldn’t finish my food. I am not at all a picky eater but this was not worth the $36 I paid. And the salsa was not at all par with flavor or hot. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I may trying again in the future, but this place needs to step...
