Hooz on First — Restaurant in Barstow

I didn't see anything about food but the bartender was very friendly. That is always nice going to place for first time. They had a live band playing. They played well and it was like folk music. Just one of my favorites to listen to.the beer was cold and drinks were poured wonderful! If you like the game of pool, then you will be happy here. 2 tables that are level . The bad would be area. The surrounding buildings were borded up which didn't bother me but might others. There was a guy who wanted to use my phone. That seemed weird with his story. Something about buying a Ferrari! Lol . When leaving we had wonderful views of police cars with spotlights shining across street. They were looking for someone and we didn't want to meet him so...

Now is Top Dog tavern under new ownership inside is nice and redone.Overall business unsafe and not a place to feel safe. I was assaulted inside of bar on 4/5 friday night at 12:48 am in front of witnesses security tried to prevent me from calling police and wanted to hold me back from making sure assailant didnt leave telling me to just let him leave. Unprofessional unsafe and just shows what kind of place they run. security didn't let me go till I threatened him on phone with 911 that he was holding me hostage or keeping me from following assailant. lucky police were close since the assailant would have gotten away. this bar is not a safe place to be especially if you are just trying to mind...

You know the smell of a dirty clothes hamper? Combine that with the smell of bacon and desperation and you've got the general odor which permeates this bar and more specifically it's clientele. I feel like, if you wrote a good review of this place in order to ensure those who are unsuspecting will suffer as you have, you should be ashamed. Get out of Barstow as soon as possible. That's the clear option. Two stars because at least most of the people are friendly....like Dustin Hoffman in...
