This location gets alot of traffic bc of interstate 15, an it may be why the employees an management don't care about customer service. They don't seem to like their jobs, noone smiling, not 1 person, there were no pleasantries, no welcome to El Pollo Loco may I take your order, nope, no can i get you anything else, nothing but a blank irritated stare (as if you were ordering from a kiosk) and believe me if you have never been to an El Pollo Loco and ask questions, it's worse, bc then they act like your an idiot or your in a different country an they don't understand your language, when it appeared to be just the opposite, I was in America and you should know the language. We stopped after a girls ALLSTARS Softball series game, weekend Sat afternoon, so there where 2 adults and 3 teen girls, my family lives in Barstow an they knew the menu, they try not to go to this POLLO location but the girls were hangry they stopped. Now, I have been gone since 2012 but come back for visits a couple times a year, an they generally go to different El Pollo locations, bc of the Interstate traffic crowds an other obvious reasons. So it been a while and when it was my turn, I didn't have my glasses an could not see menu boards, so I asked several questions, like what the RBC was, an it was like committing a cardinal sin; ended up ordering something that I didn't want bc they wouldn't take the time to answer my questions, it was the blank irritated stare then the unspoken words cast between employees, "Like look at the dummy tourist, don't know what RBC is) btw, it means, rice beans & cheese in a burrito, so ok I'm at EL POLLO LOCO translates to CRAZY CHICKEN, how the F* am I supposed to know that there's no chicken in a RBC, I wanted chicken an I got a burrito with rice beans an cheese it. OMFG REALLY SERIOUSLY! Oh & you don't return to have the order fixed, buyer beware. They do not care there, most traffic is from I-15, SO they don't have to care about returning customers or customer service, the price points too high, restaurant needed cleaning & the BATHROOM HYGIENE & MAINTENANCE was DISGUSTING, (the soft ballfields in AppleValley, facilities were better) sad but true. Lived there in High Desert 2000-2013, 13 yrs, so I can say WEST COAST for the most part about 95% of It is the norm to be rude, or irritated an bothered by customers, there are exceptions tho and I do recognize them in reviews or with Management... then I had to moved back to my home town in Southeast Alabama June 2013. I hate to say it but the WESTCOAST IS a stark contrast to the SOUTH where EVERYONE, even Mcdonalds, Hardees, KFC, no matter where you go, drivethru, sit down restaurant, grocery stores bag an carry out your groceries help you in shopping needs, everywhere they greet you an treat you like your family or someone important, this is the norm an in a state where they are only paid an Alabama State minimum wage of $7.35, yet employees love thier jobs an customers at least when they are working, the level of greetings, customer service, making sure you are 100% happy with the product an services an ratings they care about ratings and returning customers. Read moreWe went to this location around 9:18pm to try to get some late dinner. We ask the worker if the place was closed since the sign posted outside said they were open from 10-10pm and he said YES they were open. We thought that maybe it's New Years and they might be closed earlier so we ask again and the worker said YES they are open and can take orders. So we placed our order and wanted to use the restroom to wash our hands cuz of COVID protocol. But the store manager, Elizabeth, blocked the entrance of the restroom with The trash can and said that we are not allow to use the restroom because they close at 9:00. It's confusing because the other worker stated twice that the store is still open and we already paid for our order. So we had no other options but to wait for our food without being able to wash our hands to dine in. The food came out quickly but was cold. If I'm not mistaken, this could possibly be old cooked food and who knows might even get some spit on from the manager. I believe this might be an act of prejudice against minor thinking that we do not understand the hours of operation. I believe that I was tricked by this store and was forced to consume old cooked food. I feel like I've been cheated of my consumer's right to have good customer service.
