The Hideaway in B’ville is located down town in a nicely restored building. A big roomy restaurant with colorful kites decorating the interior, several TV screens with the current sports and lots of booths for comfortable dining. It has an attractive full service bar for the beverage of your choice. There is easy access ample parking all around. I love Hideaway’s Sub sandwiches but, I also love the “Extreme Pizza.” My favorite! The last time my wife picked the pizza and we had the “Da Bomb”; a combination of Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, Basil, Pineapple, Balsamic Drizzle, and Parmesan Herb Shake. This was her absolute favorite…well maybe, until now? It was my turn to pick so, I did go for the “Extreme” on thin crust. The Extreme is extreme, with Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Canadian Bacon, Genoa Salami, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Sausage, Black Olives, Green Bell Pepper, Green Olives, Jalapeño, Mushrooms, Red Onion, and Parmesan Herb Shake. What I really like is the moderate use of the red sauce, the fantastic taste of the meats, especially the Italian sausage and the Canadian bacon, the delightfully fresh vegetables and THAT thin crispy, crunchy crust. The pizza is not dripping in grease from the meat! The jalapenos on top are almost toasted in texture when the pizza is done. This stands out and my wife loved them. Maybe I won’t have to eat pineapple on a pizza again! The other pizza we like is the “Capone” Service is fantastic; the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

I've visited many Hideways. This one was just okay, but when compared to other locations, it does not have the same spirited vibe. The wait staff could be a little more friendly. I felt as if my presence bothered the employees. Food was served fresh. Drinks were refilled only once. No one welcomed my family or said thank you on our way out, which is uncommon for B'ville hospitality. I'll have to give this place a second chance to see if the service is the same. I hope not. Update: I visited during lunchtime during the weekday. I sat at the bar. Better customer service. Beer was nice and cold and made to my liking...that means a salted rim! 🧂 😋

Loved it, great pizza and good for kids. I was nervous taking several kids and toddlers there but they had dough to play with. The waitress was great with helping me keep them entertained. They had crayons and tattoos. They had an amazing time. Well worth going. We watched the game and had fun. The pizza was well worth the money. I love being able to take the cups the kids love them. Super cool place. My only gripe was parking. Had to park pretty far away.

Hideaway doesn't take reservations. We had a group of 20, 9 kids 11 adults. My daughter and I arrived at 4:30, wasn't busy, and spoke with the mgr, Brian. We discussed the size of our group let Brian know it's been 12 yrs since we've all been together for the holidays and we decided to dine at Hideaway, one of our favorite places. It was quite obvious he was not thrilled of the size of our group. He informed us that he doesn't have a server for the back area until 5 and when half of our group arrived he'd seat us. We completely understood the reasoning. Half of our group arrived at 5:20, my son spoke with Brian to let him know 1/2 of the group was here. Brian dismissively said, "I'll seat you when I can. " 6 minutes later the entire group was now there. Brian saw our entire group had arrived. Brian sat 2 groups of 8, 15 minutes after we were all there. We waited another 20 minutes, while Brian continued sitting other groups. We realized Brian had NO intentions to seat us anytime soon. When he definitely could have seated us as there were plenty of seating in the back area at 5:20. My sons walked to the Painted Horse and they would love to accommodate our group. Brian you lost a $500.00 food / bar bill and one of your waitstaff lost a $300 tip. If you have a large group, don't bother going to this restaurant, as they won't seat you. It would have been nice had Brian just been honest and told me at 4:30 when I arrived that they wouldn't be able or interested in serving our group of 20. None of us locals will ever dine there again and we dined here at least 1x a week. Great way to manage Brian, said no one in our group!!! SMH. Painted Horse staff, food and drinks...

TL;DR: pizza isn't good, but the rest of the food has been and it's a cool place to go.

The three stars come from atmosphere and general quality of the food. It isn't bad, especially the fried or cheesy mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, etc. Solid choices. Wait staff have always been friendly. The two star loss is for the pizza itself. Tried it enough times to know it is a formulation issue above all else. I had it once in house and it was good (not great), then a few take outs that were bad and then gave it one more chance eating in the restaurant. The pizza (despite being fresh from the oven) tasted like we picked up take out and drove it around a half hour before eating it. I'll break down my review a bit to make it easier to digest. 1.) CRUST: hand tossed is better than thin crust, thin tastes like it was previously frozen and has a staleness of a Tombstone-style crust without the crispness of a thin crust. Hand tossed is easier to eat, but has been consistently underbaked and a bit doughy. 2.) SAUCE: the pizza sauce is a bit thick and a tad sweet. They put a little too much on so the sweetness can be a bit overwhelming (this applies only to red pizzas, that's all I tried). 3.) CHEESE: by no means am I an expert on cheeses, but something is missing in their cheese blend. Maybe asiago, maybe parmesan, but the melt isn't quite right. They may be using straight mozzarella for all I know, it browns and burns before it really melts, so balancing the milkfat content in the blend would help, especially for the fresh out of the oven eating experience. All that being said, it probably is still the best pizza in Bartlesville, but I don't know if that counts as...

This experience wasn't as good as it has been in the past for several reasons... The pizza we ordered, the Cimarron, was lacking in flavor. It was bland, causing me to ask for ranch to zest it up a little. My husband even added dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, and red bell peppers . You'd think the flavor would have been awesome, but it was missing a major kick due to the Alfredo sauce, which seemed to be absent or at least tasted that way. We won't be getting that one again! Service was lacking. We had to stop someone other than our waitress to have them find her for us twice to refill our drinks. We sat there close to 15 minutes before she came out of hiding but the kicker she would walk away before we were done telling her what we needed so she only got half of what we needed at a time when she showed up a total of 3 times, (twice we sent for her and once to collect the payment for our meal & drinks). The atmosphere wasn't about paying customers but rather the staff who seemed self-absorbed, unfriendly, and the lack of attention from staff made it seen we were more a hassle they had to put up with than a paying customer that keeps the paychecks flowing. Needless to say we felt disrespected, unappreciated, and ignored. I don't know about anyone else out there but when we go out to eat half the experience is being waited on or served as well as the meal. They weren't as busy as usual, I wonder why?....lol. Over all the food is normally very good we usually get the Extreme or the ATW which is wonderful but thought we try something new tonight. Well that's what we get but no excuse for the service....very disappointed 😒 I expected...
