(This is tates on 2nd st) Won't ever be going to tates again unless I have a flat. They did an oil change I asked for 10w as my car is older and manufacturer says use 10w. on receipt they put 5w said take it in and they'd switch it out. Took 4 hours for 1st oil change and all of sudden they fixed problem and changed oil to 10w in 20 minutes and they only carry 5w so they said they had it delivered and something felt fishy they did all that in 20 min and 1st time around took 4 hours and all of sudden I sprung a oil leak which indicated to me that they lied and kept the thinner weight the 5w in thinking I wouldn't notice so I did my own oil saved 70 bucks doing it myself and suddenly oil leak gone which tells me they lied. cause if they had put the 10w in like I payed them to do the oil leak would have stopped/never happened but they lied and kept 5w in so I leaked until I fixed problem myself with the 10w. I wouldn't trust them plus they're good for telling you there's other problems than you really need or will try and get a flush, Alignment whatever they can to up charge ya. They do a great job of fixing flats just not sneaky like they thought they were being. Glad I waited and just fixed oil myself instead of wasting money looking for a leak that is fixed with the heavier weight as manufacturer label says to use. (They technically didn't cause the leak cause obviously leak was there already but not a problem as long as I use the 10w) them putting the thinner weight in just cause the oil to find the leak and seap through) so the problem isn't the leak it's the fact that I payed for a oil change with oil I want and car ask for and they put what they wanted to instead and lied when they said they changed it out and that's the problem for me especially when im paying good money for a simple job.
Update I changed from 1 star to 3 I recieved a call from tate boys from a new manager apologizing for experience which I appreciate the effort do feel like 3 star is more fitting still didn't change the fact that I was played but that was probably a isolated decision based on poor management in the past so appreciate the new manager at least taking the time to find out reason for rating so hopefully next experience will raise to 5 star and hopefully someone else doesn't have same experience also was informed they started carrying 10w so chances of someone trying to pull a fast one for whatever reason I would...
Read moreI had always taking my car to Tates for flat repairs. Unfortunately, the last time I went the technician tore my spare tire cover. I brought this to the manager's attention only for him to be rude. He even had the technician look at my car and he said he remembered my car then the manager got arrogant and said he remembers. But then the technician started describing other facts that didnt even apply to my vehicle. I said apparently he doesn't remember. The manager's name was DJ. He then stated he would replace the cover and it would come from a salvage yard. I agreed as long as it wasn't stained or ripped. Two weeks went by and the manager never called. I called back and he stated one of his vendors was going to get one for me.. In fact he said the vendor already had the cover and should be there that week. He never called that's been 3-4 months now. I am calling him back. Thats ridiculous what tire vendor carries Honda spare tire covers?? None apparently. I will only go to Tates for flat repair. They totally over charge you for any work and its not quality work by top technicians so you are taking your chances..
Update: I called and spoke to the manager he stated that the vendor had the wrong part. I said that's no excuse not to call me. I asked for reimbursement at that point from the manager DJ. He agreed and then tried saying he had offered that as a resolution previously. I said that he did not offer reimbursement previously or we wouldn't be having this conversation. DJ the manager was argumentive with me just as he had been from my first encounter with him. I did go to the location and I was reimbursed $50.00. This is the amount I requested and it was below the price online for a Honda spare tire cover. I am happy with the outcome but my encounter with the store manager was less than stellar. I will most likely do tire repairs at the Highway 75 location...
Read moreI am very disappointed with the service that I received. I’m not sure where to even begin…. I had taken my vehicle in for an oil change about a month ago and was told that my vehicle needed the tires aligned. About a month after this I ended up with a punctured tire, I took it in to have the tire patched and instead they plugged the hole and sent me on my way. They didn’t tell me why they plugged the hole instead of patching it or anything. I have three kids that ride in the car with me mind you and if anything happens and I have a blow out it’s not just me it’s my kids in the car too. After plugging the hole they told me everything would be just fine. They also left the tire cap off and didn’t put my spare tire back in the vehicle correctly. Just seemed like they rushed. Fast forward to a week later and I’m told that I need to get the plugged tire replaced in order to prevent having a blow out. I took the vehicle to another tire shop and was told by them that the tire could have been patched, but due to Tate boys having made the puncture hole bigger to plug it I would now need to buy new tires. So I did so, in doing this I asked for the alignment to be checked because if you remember Tate boys had said that it was out of alignment. Upon the new tire shop checking the alignment they found that it was in complete alignment. So not only did tates screw me over and cause me to have to get new tires they also were going to charge me to get an alignment done that I didn’t even need.
Super disappointed with...
