Thai Village Restaurant - Batavia Allow me to reintroduce myself, I am Jeanea! In real life, I am a TRUE FOODIE! And I always wanted to do restaurant reviews so here I am! Ready to risk it all to tell you all about the foods I love and the those I distain from. Thai Food is ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL AND IS BEST SERVED IN THE PLACE THAT PREPARES IT TO OBSERVE ITS TRUE ESSENCE. It should be like an experience of no other …Unique , Peaceful and Tastefully Devine. I don’t like mediocre . This isn’t how I imagined doing my first food review especially through a door dash delivery. But as soon as I opened the bag and the rush of delicious aromas fill the air, I knew this was the moment. Hair standing on my head uncombed, barefoot and barely clothed in my foodie happy space on my living room sofa and my coffee table . Messy background and all because MANNNNNN I GOT TO TELL SOMEBODY! I ordered the Sum mai app, Spicy 🌶️ Basil 🌿 Beef and Shrimp Fried Rice and Thai Custard and Sticky Rice dessert. I tried the Sum Mai which is a mini Dumplings filled with ground shrimp and crab meat. Although I didn’t photo it, I damn near bit my tongue eating it. Mouthwatering delicious 🤤 I tried the Thai Custard next and BABY I WILL SLAP YO MAMA FOR ANOTHER ONE! Not mine though, I am not that crazy! 🤪 🤣🤣 Before long I calling out Bae and humming saying Man MAN MAN as I open my entrée. The Sweet stench of Basil escaped and danced in my nose as I lifted my fork from my bowl. As it hit my mouth and slither down my throat. All I would say was man man this is good. My hunnyBae says when I say those words, we have a good foodie slam dunk! But I am going to simplify it with a simple THANKS! Amazing Thai Food and I can not wait to do this review in person! 5 stars ✨ If you are ever looking for amazing Thai Food, please go check them out. Sum mai 10/10 Spicy Basil Fried 8/10 Thai Custard with Sticky Rice 9/10

Thai village restaurant has an inviting appeal. You’re greeted by the warm, friendly staff there and let’s not forget the tranquil music. I had a lunch date with my lovely wife and the food was there was second to none. We had the Cucumber salad which opened our pallets with its sweet , tangy and crunchy bite. We also tried the veggie spring roll which was fresh and filling. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us some great recommendations 👏👏👏 so if you happen to dine here, we recommend asking for her. If you find it in your heart and have the means to provide I know she would love it if you left a generous tip.

Very good food and service the Pad Thai is really great probably some of the best I’ve had and I’ve had many. And their panang curry with tofu is amazing too. Pad Thai lunch special is affordable and tasty. Their red chili paste is beautiful too. Support local always and give a try for yourselves you won't be disappointed. Great option with lots of tasty meals especially for lunch specials. Pad Thai for sure is amazing….panang curry amazing….Tom kha soup amazing. Those are favorites and suggestions and the spring rolls nice too. Pro tip add a tiny bit of their chili oil to the spring roll sauce! 😋

While we have never actually dined at the restaurant, we have done take out / Uber Eats more times than I can count. The food is good quality at a reasonable price, and they are one of the fastest places around. But the service is severely hit or miss. We ordered Uber Eats on 9/27 and then again tonight, 10/9. My part of the order was the exact same both times. I just clicked "reorder" so there's no room for error on the specifics. My dinner on 9/27 was perfectly prepared, exactly as specified. Which is pretty awesome considering that I have the unfortunate circumstance of not being able to eat quite a few vegetables, and the customization options in the Uber Eats menu were entered incorrectly. It's not like I can just check mark the veggies to exclude and then ask for substitute in the comments. I have to write in the exclusions and then write the substitution. Despite the challenging order process, everything was exactly as ordered on 9/27.

Then there was the order tonight. My order was, again, the sesame shrimp. I had them exclude the peppers, carrots, and celery, leaving the onions in and asked them to sub in green beans (which are a vegetable that they have in other dishes that were listed as available tonight on the menu). I asked them to leave the shrimp unbreaded and add a little spice. I wrote these instructions very clearly and succinctly. What I received was shrimp in sauce with a comment on top, "Sorry, no green beans." They did not call me to find out if I wanted to select something different. They did not contact Uber Eats. They just sent shrimp in sauce. I might have let it slide if they had at least put the onions in that it was supposed to have. So, I called them. They did not apologize; they stated that it isn't typically made with green beans, to which I replied that it hadn't been an issue before. Then they told me my order was too complicated. I gently informed them that I had ordered the same thing on 9/27, and it was delivered perfectly as ordered.. "Oh" was the response. Then it was something like, "well, what do you want us to do? we can re-make it, but you'll have to call Uber Eats to send a new driver." I told them I don't think that's an option, and they said they don't have a driver. Ok, fine, so I offered to pick up and said I couldn't get there til 5 or 10 minutes after close. They tried arguing that they close at 8:30, but upon asking if they had people there cleaning up after close, they agreed that would be fine. I asked about other vegetables that they could do instead of green beans, and they suggested pea pods, which was an excellent alternative. The replacement meal was pretty tasty, although they sent white rice with it instead of the noodles that I had ordered.

So, Thai Village, why not contact the customer in a scenario like this and offer an easy alternative like pea pods instead of green beans? It could have saved me a lot of time and frustration, and it would have saved you money since you ended up sending two orders of shrimp instead of just one. You guys are fantastic some night and a complete nightmare to deal with on other nights. I don't know if the problem is the front of the house staff, the cooks, or both on the difficult nights, but it's as if I'm ordering from two different restaurants - one of them I absolutely love and one I'd never order...

Many years ago I use to work in downtown Batavia, Tusk and Thai Village were always my to go Thai restaurants. Lately I was craving a good Yellow curry that I have found no where else, but at these two places. After a toss of a coin I went to Thai Village. The Yellow curry w/ tofu was just as amazing as I had remembered, I was so excited I called my husband to tell him and asked him if wanted lunch I would drop it off on my way back to the office.

However, I was somewhat disappointed today. In the past the serving of curry was very generous, I would even run out of rice and had lots of the curry sauce left. Sometimes I would ask for more rice and they would bring it. Today, there were clearly more vegetables and tofu that than curry sauce. I didn't immediately say anything because I figured It might be that the plate was so big it looked like a little amount when in reality it wasn't. Well, the sauce was gone pretty quickly and I was left with a decent amount of rice and vegetables. I asked the waitress if she could bring me a little more sauce and told her I was ready to place the to go order. She immediately said I cannot place the lunch special to go and I would have to place a dinner order. I let her know I wanted a lunch special to drop off to my husband, and she apologized and said it would be charged as a dinner item if it was to go. I wasn't going to argue and they must have thier reasons, so I ordered from the dinner menu. She brought me over two containers to go, one for my rice and the other for the curry. There was absolutely no curry sauce with the vegetables and when she returned with the check I asked again if I could get just a side of curry. She left and returned to tell me that if I wanted more curry I would have to place a full order.

In conclusion, I was there during thier lunchtime hours of 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM (approx. 12:15) and I was told I could not order a lunch special to go, so I had to order from the dinner menu. And I asked for a side of curry sauce and was told I would have to place full order. I guess I'll be going to TUSK in the future, thier food is amazing and they have always been...

i ORDERED DINNER FROM THIS RESTAURANT ON APRIL 7, 2021. IT WAS THE WORSE THAI FOOD THAT WE HAVE EVER HAD. ABOUT 70 PERCENT OF IT WAS PUT IN THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL BECAUSE WE JUST DID NOT LIKE THE FOOD. TRULY A WASTE OF MY MONEY, $110.00. TO TOP IT OFF THE GRUBHUB EMPLOYEE THAT DELIVERED OUR FOOD WAS VERY DISHONEST .HE USED MY CREDIT CARD AND WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE HE SIGNED ME UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP. I DID NOT SEE THIS PERSON AT ALL. MY TELEPHONE RANG ON 4/7/21 ANF IT WAS THIS PERSON, HIS NAME WAS AARON. HE CALLED ME UP AND SAID, " THIS IS AARON, YOUR FOOD IS AT THE DOOR, ENJOY" i SAID THANK YOU. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD EVER USED GRUBHUB AND IT WILL BE THE LAST. AARON DECIDED TO SIGN ME UP FOR A MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP WHICH I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT. I USE ONE CREDIT CARD ALL MONTH AND THEN PAY IT OFF AT THE END OF THE MONTH. I DO CHECK MY ACCOUNT DURING THE MONTH AND IT WAS A BIG SURPRISE TO ME WHEN I WENT ON LINE AND FOUND THAT ON 4/20/21,I HAD A CHARGE OF $9.99 ON MY ACOUNT FOR A GRUBHUB MEMBERSHIP AND I WAS NOT HAPPY. AARON HAS FOUND A WAY TO MAKE BONUS MONEY WITHOUT THE PEOPLE KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I CALLED THE LOCAL POLICE AND REPORTED WHAT HE HAD DONE AND THE POLICE OFFICER TOLD ME THAT IT I HAD ANY PROBLEMS GETTING MY MONEY BACK JUST CALL THEM AND LET THEM KNOW. WHAT ARRON DID IS AGAINST THE LAW , IT IS FRAUD. I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND I WILL NOT PUT UP WITH IT. JUST A WORD OF WARNING ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT, THIS PERSON HANGS OUT THERE AND PICKS UP ALL THE INCOMING .ORDERS. I AM SURE THAT AARON HELPS HIMSELF TO PEOPLE'S CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AND DOES THE SAME THING TO OTHERS. HE GOT THE WRONG ONE THIS TIME. I WILL HAVE HIM ARRESTED IF I CAN FOR USING MY CREDIT CARD WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. HE SHOULD HAVE TO ANSWER FOR WHAT HE DID. IT MADE A BAD SITUATION EVEN WORSE. HE IS GOING TO GIVE THIS RESTAURANT A BAD NAME FOR WHAT HE IS DOING AND THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THEY PROBABLY KNOW...
