OMG what a taste experience. First off, I visited this restaurant as a group of people, one of which was a regular at this establishment. So regular, he was considered family. We enjoyed not only good friendship and company but as diverse as we were so is the food that we were received. With a series of appetizers salads empanadas and finally pastries, we walked away not only happy for the evening but continuously talking about the wonderful flavors textures and variety of some very simple looking food. I regret not having a photograph of the menu nor one of our hosts at the restaurant who did and outstanding job. We had wines with our meals and the cozy environment once again just added to the evening. It's obvious they do primarily a takeout business as there is very limited seating. Our small group took up the only table area inside. There is a small setting outside. But once again, the food they serve is made for takeout. I provided a photograph of the various empanadas and I tasted every single one with four of them in my opinion being perfect not only in texture but in taste. I can only hope one day I have the opportunity to return to this wonderful establishment. You can do me a favor by going and enjoying it yourself if you're in the...
Read moreWe visited Bocaditos yesterday to pick up our takeaway order. The women owners are extraordinarily pleasant and very welcoming. The empanadas we had were truly delicious! We ordered two each of the beef, chicken and spinach and cheese, and one each of the creamy corn and ham and cheese. They were all so flaky, and filled with fantastic fillings. We also ordered 2 extra containers of their chimichurri, it's SO good! Order extra to take home - it's a delicious accompaniment to the empanadas, and will also complement so many other foods - steak, chicken, etc. We had their alfajores for dessert, and they are not to be missed! You can get them half-dipped or fully-dipped in the most delicious chocolate.
They also sell everything you need to make yerba mate tea. The tea leaves, tea vessels, and the special straws. I asked one of the owners which brand of yerba mate leaves she preferred, and she was so informative and helpful. We bought everything we need to enjoy the yerba mate.
They're moving and opening up a new shop in Batavia, and we wish them well and can hardly wait to...
Read moreOn our way to Saint Charles for the Scarecrow fest weekend and decided to stop by this beautiful little cafe off of Batavia.
First of all, the Cafe owner was absolutely amazing who also serviced us. She was so friendly and wonderful. We sat outside on this beautiful sunny 70° temperature and it was just a great day with adorable seating and relaxing atmosphere.
We ordered the Lentils Salad with their homemade mayo and chimichurri dressing, 2 spinach and cheese empanadas, ham and cheese empanadas and a chocolate dipped cookie cake with dulce de Leche and everything was exceptional. It took a little longer but that is to be expected for freshly made food! The empanadas was soooo crispy and flavorful and the lentil salad was delicious as well. My kid said the cookie cake was absolutely the best and his jam and cheese empanadas was hot and delicious. What is not to love? Great service, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere on a pleasant...
