Most Recent Update Summer 2025: People in BG seem to love the cafe! Parking is very limited, so plan accordingly.
I still have to say I'm not finding that perfect for me treat in the bakery just yet. There is a delightful quiche, but it is quite pricing. I thoroughly enjoy having nuget ice in my iced tea! Would love to see a reduction of single use plastic
Love the history Incorporated in the interior, just wish the exterior had some pop of color. Maybe a small mural or some flowers. Really, anything to brighten up the exterior facade. Music would be a lovely addition, but understandably due to a high population of folks that do not listen to music in this community, that is my guess of why it has been omitted.
Again, I wouldn't say the pastries are my favorite. There are many other places in Clark county where I can find a much more delicious treat. But it is nice to have something local and community oriented...very much looking forward to the farmers market and ice cream!!
Update from Friday 9/27 below 9/20/24 (2 stars) - Sure wish I could leave a positive review for the delicious looking pastries, but due to whoever is running their social media, (Instagram, nothing on Facebook) that has proven to be rather difficult.
They started a food truck in August, saw the post and thought with all the hype they will probably be busy so my family got up early and got to the truck around 7:50. They didn't open at 8 like the post indicated, went and spoke with them and they said they would open at 8:30. So we were going to leave and come back. We went back to ask what they would have and we were told coffee and bagels, so we left and went to the Sweetly Bakery (great choice!). Later I saw their posts and they definitely had more than bagels..
I've been wanting to try again but the truck hours are very inconsistent and whoever is posting for it waits until after 8:00 day of before sharing anything.
If I'm ever able to get a hold of a treat of some kind, I'd be happy to update my review accordingly but at this time the best word is inconsistent (truck hours and bakery opening date).
**Update 9/27 (3 stars, long wait, treats still left a lot to be desired, will update again when the bakery opens): Happy to say I finally got my hands on some treats! Arrived at the truck just before 8:15, the line took about 15 minutes (8 people or so ahead). I ordered the cinnamon roll, cardamon bun and, mini donuts (was told they were not ready yet asked for an ETA and was told 10 minutes, I didn't mind waiting).
I received the cardamon bun and cinnamon rolls quickly. They were served warm, on plates with a plastic fork. Unfortunately I'd still use the word [a little] inconsistent, I saw several rolls go out but unfortunately I was served a whole roll and one missing the outer layer. As a self proclaimed cinnamon roll connoisseur I'm sad to say these missed the mark for me. The frosting is very sweet, not much cinnamon flavor, but I did like the soft roll.
The mini donuts are a little on me (I choose to wait) and a little on them, I waited more like 20 minutes and made it home (by 9:00) just in time to share treats. They were worth waiting for, we enjoyed them most.
My mom had the cardamom bun, we were surprised that it was fried and not baked. The flavor was lovely, I had a bite. I am not someone who likes cardamom very much and I thought this was very pleasant, but the grease took away from it some.
The staff was kind and there were a lot of people working in that truck! It is wise of them to start the truck as kind of a dry run.
I'd also like to add that the social media posts have picked up significantly. They have been more frequent and very informative... Much appreciated!
The crew looks like they're working hard to get the bakery open soon, looking forward to trying other baked goods and having another nice spot to enjoy in the community. Hopefully they add some flowers or some decor to brighten up...
Read moreA new bakery coffee shop in town is always an exciting development, and this spot brings a fresh option to the local scene. With a cozy interior, friendly staff, and an impressive display of baked goods, it’s clear that this place has already become a popular weekend destination.
🥐 The Good:
One of the standout positives is the selection of baked items. The pastries and bread on display look fantastic, and the aroma of fresh baking hits you as soon as you walk through the door. It’s evident that care and attention are put into these creations, which makes this bakery a nice addition to the neighborhood.
The overall atmosphere is pleasant — a modern but welcoming vibe with ample seating for customers to enjoy their coffee and treats.
🥪 The Not-So-Good:
Unfortunately, the experience fell a little flat when it came to the breakfast sandwich I ordered. I chose the rosemary cheese sausage-and-egg sandwich, which sounded delicious. However, after waiting quite a while for the food (it was understandably busy at 9:00 AM on a Saturday), the sandwich arrived on jalapeño bread — not what I ordered, and a flavor I don’t particularly enjoy.
Given the long wait, I decided not to ask for a replacement, but it was disappointing to receive the wrong order. Hopefully, this is a minor hiccup as the staff gets used to the weekend rush.
The sandwich itself was also very greasy. I expected a bit of oil from a sausage and egg sandwich, but this one left me reaching for napkins constantly. A little less grease would make for a much more enjoyable experience.
☕ The Coffee:
I’d give the coffee about three stars out of five. The presentation is nice — they serve it in attractive cups, which adds a nice touch. However, the coffee itself is quite bitter. Whether it preference for darker roasts or simply over-roasting the beans, it’s a bit too harsh for my liking. I’m not sure if this is due to supply choices or local preferences shaped by years of Starbucks influence, but it’s an area that could be improved with better sourcing or lighter roasting. It would be great if there was a light roast option.
💭 Final Thoughts:
This new bakery has great potential. The baked goods look excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s nice to see a new option in the neighborhood. However, they have a few kinks to work out, particularly around food orders and coffee quality.
I’ll definitely give them another chance as they settle in — every new business deserves a little grace period. Hopefully, the service and quality will continue to improve, making this a true gem for the community.
👉 Rating: 3.5/5 Would I return? Yes, but I’ll probably stick to pastries and give the coffee another try...
Read moreI believe in giving very honest reviews because I want to give the opportunity for a company to take the criticism and turn it around to improve if they care to do. I really want to support local businesses and was looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately it was greatly disappointing. I’m more than happy to change my review if they can make changes and become better.
First they need to get different coffee beans and train employees as baristas or at least hire baristas. What they are serving taste like chemicals and taste extremely cheap like what you’d find at a free coffee machine in a motel lobby. The problem is not only the quality of the product but also the method of how they are creating drinks. If you are a barista, you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about.
The flavor of the coffee is chemical/plasticky with a thin and watery texture . There’s 0 coffee aroma when you walk in. They are charging nearly 6 bucks for what they call an 8oz cup of shots and milk that taste 100% unacceptable and should be illegal to sell. I cannot express enough how cheap and fake tasting their coffee beans are. It’s horrifying.
I can go to any other coffee shop in town (chain & stand alone included) order a 24oz drink with their own crafted syrups and the coffee is significantly higher quality and I pay maybe 7 bucks at the very most.
Even if their coffee was being given out as a sample, I’d never drink it again. They likely aren’t trying it for themselves because if they were, they’d of taken it off the menu. Thats how awful it is.
Overall I found the pastry’s to be teeny tiny, overpriced and underwhelming. They don’t bake their morning buns they fry them. It was served cold and hard as a rock. The morning bun that was served to me was not freshly made but tasted old. Not a good first impression for a bakery. That was also disappointing.
Nothing was good and it was not appropriately priced or portioned. I saw bagels that look like they didn’t even rise!
I’m happy to pay a pretty penny for food and coffee if the quality reflects appropriately.
Please please please PLEASE change your coffee or just don’t sell it! If you aren’t going to focus on serving at least basic decent coffee then take it away completely because it’s only going to hurt your business.
I can understand that this is not a coffee shop. The main focus is on bakery items. If the coffee can’t be anything less than offensive, it’d be better off not offered at all. The bakery needs help and the coffee speaks for itself outside of...
