I feel compelled to write this review. My trainer and I decided to have dinner tonight at Mod Pizza in Battleground because we both love the menu options and enjoy the quiet booths. We were meeting to discuss my new fitness plan and goals. It was 8:52 pm when the shift “Captain” (her co-worker referred to her as that) named Kate or Katie cam to the back area and started sliding the metal chairs across the floor as part of some kind of closing detail. It was so ear-piercing that we could no longer hear one another speak. We decided that we would leave since we could no longer conduct our meeting and I asked Kate when the restaurant closes to which she replied 10:00 pm. I then asked her if she could just give us 5 min to gather our things before she continued to make that loud noise again with the chairs. Kate literally rolled her eyes, turned around and slid another stool across the floor. I am assuming she could not hear how loud it was because she was wearing her earbuds. I should have mentioned that she was also very rude when we arrived. Normally we are greeted when we come through the door by someone but not tonight. In fact we stood there for quite some time while Kate and the other staff did whatever it was they were doing. Not one single acknowledgement. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to speak with a manager so when I asked for one I was told by a co-worker that “she” was the captain tonight. I asked what the name of their owner/ manger is and then she approached and asked me “Do you have a problem with me doing my job?”. I explained to her that I didn’t understand her attitude or why she felt that she had to continue making so much noise while they still had customers present; I had asked her to please pick up the stools VS. Sliding them across the floor and since it was only 8:52 pm and they close at 10:00 why couldn’t she have waited. She denied moving anymore chairs and that she was making any noise. She. Became very argumentative and accusatory, stating that I am complaining about her doing her job. She spoke loudly and talked over me insisting that she did nothing wrong. I asked her about her customer service skills and she continued to spew negative comments and roll her eyes. If this is the “shift Captain” than I wish your store a lot of luck because a person with this much contempt inside should not be allowed to work with the public. Her lack of respect for the customer and the complete disregard of a customers request is a huge failure in my book. Kate is clearly not suitable for this job Or any position that requires contact with the public. I certainly hope she will be reprimanded for her poor attitude and choice of words. Thank you for you...
Read moreI was very disappointed with the experience I had with Mod pizza. I tried ordering some salads in advance for a party and it spiraled quickly.
I attempted to order the salads in advance online using the google page and it said it was currently unavailable. So I called their number and pressed 2 to place an order, little to my knowledge, a phone service taking my call to which I was disconnected and had to redial. After calling and recalling and being on the phone for about half an hour I was told by the folks at the phone service I could not order the salads 1 day in advance and would have to call the day-of. This did not make any sense to me as I was requesting a few mega-size salads, but I thanked them anyway and took their directions to call the line again at about 9:30am the following day to place my order.
The following day arrived, and I called the same line (this time no options for 1, 2, 3 ect.) and an employee answered, I explained why I called and they told me I need to place my order online only. That is my only option. I explained I called this line yesterday and there was an option to place an order and those folks told me they could not process the order in advance and instructed me to call today at 9:30am. They kept repeating information about ordering online is the only way and not hearing me. The employee made me feel very rushed and unheard and that they did not care to hear my situation or help me solve my issue.
I feel it all was too much hassle to go through and too much time wasted for ordering pick up. The system they use is clunky and not efficient and my interactions with the staff left me feeling confused & unheard. They say you only get one chance to make a first impression, I will likely never be ordering pickup from...
Read moreI'll keep eating here cause I live so close, but lately the service had been lacking. I did an online order and my dad was gonna pick it up. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I edited my order (removing some toppings) the system wouldn't show the change. I took so long trying to fix it, they bumped my pickup time to 20 minutes later! Seemed a little extreme for a few extra minutes making choices.
Upon finishing the order, I immediately called so they could edit the order on their end since the website was broken. I was told they've heard of this issue before and will definitely fix my order.
As expected, my dad got there a bit early (cause our time had been bumped) and was ready for a little wait. He ended up waiting there for over a half an hour and they hadn't even STARTED the pizzas when the pickup time came! Even knowing he was there they refused fill the order. Walk-ins got to go first.
Basically it's faster to drive ½ hour to the restaurant and then order than it is to order ahead. I ordered the pizzas BEFORE he even started driving to MOD Pizza. This should not be!
I don't know if this is a chain-wide policy, but certainly be cautious at this location. I don't think it's fair to treat "order ahead" customers as lesser than the drop-ins.
Oh, and the toppings I worked so hard to remove? Definitely still on the pizza. Good thing I'm not allergic and they could...
