The team at this Red Robin are amazing. In a time when customer service is often overlooked this team makes it clear that it is their number one priority. I tried to place an online order tonight but was unable to complete it because I had bonus bucks to use. So I drove to the restaurant to place my order in person. The young lady who took the order - Kelly -- has been there 3 weeks. She was a joy to work with and understandably took a while to get the order in....I had a lot of customizations. Unfortunately the ordering system she was trying to use was pretty complicated and we ended up having some miscommunication but the great news was one of the cooks came out to say she was confused so we were able to determine where the order had gone awry. Kelly was awesome the whole time -- apologizing and trying to fix it. Then one of her coworkers -- also new -- tried to help. He was also great. Tried really hard to fix the problem and was totally honest and candid about where he was struggling. As a customer this was so refreshing. I was totally fine with waiting and I understand the learning curve but neither of them was frazzled or frustrated. They both had amazing attitudes and awesome focus on service. I cannot understate how important this is. Ultimately the order had to start over which took a while but a more seasoned employee - Callie -- stepped in to take the order. He was fantastic too -- taking the order quickly and reading it back to check. After the new order was placed we ran into an issue because the bonus bucks had already been applied to the order that was cancelled. Callie said he was expediting the food since we'd gone through the order multiple times and that he would check with his manager on how to ensure the bonus bucks were applied. He came back with the order about 10 minutes later and the manager comped the whole order because of the wait and confusion. It was totally unnecessary but I was super appreciative of the level of service, focus on accuracy and the quality the team provided. This is so rare in 2024. I hope Red Robin's corporate team knows what an amazing team they have at this location and I hope Kelly and the other new employee whose name I neglected to catch are appreciated for all the things they did right in this situation. This is the only Red Robin I will go to. You all rock and I will send all my friends...

Strike one was several weeks ago, when I went online to order and pay. I was told our dinner would be ready in 20 minutes, so I arrived in 15. The pick up spots were full, so I went inside, and was asked for the make and model and license plate on my car. Black Ford Edge, red WSU plates, parked directly across from the pick up spots. After 15 minutes, I went back in --- not ready, yet. 30 minutes, still not ready. After 45 minutes, I went inside to complain, and the manager followed me out with my dinners. He told me that 'they' had been out several times looking for me --- I was staring at the door, so I know that didn't happen. I asked how long our dinner had been on the warming line --- he reassured me it was fine. If there was a problem, they'd make me fresh. Sigh. We were starving so I went home, and we ate, but it was awful.
Strike two was a dinner with friends and family. Six of us. One ordered the French dip. There was a long hair wound up in the meat. Dinner went back, and she chose fish and chips. You guessed! A long hair, the same color as the first was wrapped around the fish inside the batter. The rest of us were done by then, and one of our party pitched a fit. Result? One free dessert to go, and no charge for the two dinners that weren't eaten.
Last night, I have to say was strike three. Having three drinks spilled down my front, soaking me to the skin, while not catastrophic, was definitely uncomfortable. But having the manager gingerly step around the mess, avoiding all eye contact with me, and not offering at least a discount on the dinner that I had ordered? Plus, it was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. I didn't see it for 40. The whole time, sitting in sopping wet clothes. Yep, strike three. I don't think we'll be back there. So sorry to the staff. They were great....
Read moreMy husband and I decided to go last-minute on a date night a couple of weeks ago (well before closing so it wasn't like we were showing up as they were cleaning things up). We've been to the Vancouver, WA Red Robin many times and LOVE the service and food so we decided to try one closer to home. However, when we walked through the doors, no one was hosting.
Not knowing if this location was different and we needed to seat ourselves or if we needed to wait for a host/hostess to show up (and we couldn't see far enough into the restaurant to attempt to get someone's attention), we decided to wait at the front doors. In the meantime, we had a chance to take in the restaurant area we COULD see and noticed the seating area floor was littered with garbage and unbussed tables. Finally, a hostess came to the front, asked if it was just the two of us, then grabbed utensils and started walking away without another word so after hesitating, she turned around and slightly impatiently motioned for us to follow her.
In an almost completely empty room (only about 3 tables being used), we were seated behind a small group of people (which we didn't mind). We know this is a family-friendly restaurant and expect some noise but as the evening progressed, the group got louder and louder which made it difficult for my husband and I to talk. Especially with the fact that our waitress was slightly flirting with one of the guys in the group. We wouldn't have minded that at all if our waitress hadn't forgotten to check in with us periodically and refill our waters (we are both big water drinkers and hadn't ordered anything else to drink) and we essentially had ice for over half of our meal.
We definitely don’t plan on...
