First timer to this place since I recently moved to the area and searching for a local nighttime coffee shop to work, read, and study in. Trivia night was wrapping up at 830 when I arrived and it was a packed house - which was concerning for my interest in finding a table to work at. The vibe is relaxing with light music, warm colors and slightly rustic city atmosphere that has a variety of local artist pieces, some apparel and 'attitude' merchandise that set the tone for local rather than generic and bland. Obvious decor sends a particular message but didn't interfere with my experience or service. Staff were attending and quick and conversational [when free] and willing to share news about the art, the business, and product although new timers may not know where to order or ask for service - please fix 😁. Pricing is fair on the Vietnamese coffee (iced and warm) I tried although the portions appeared different while the quality was on point. I wasn't sure if there was free Wi-Fi as this wasn't made apparent and was a small let down. A small gaming system and comfortable chairs between tables for various group sizes was great and encouraged me to come back with a coworker, friend, or family. I would recommend as a new soon to be local and will plan to return with someone or something (likely a...
Read moreLoLoBee's is more than a coffee shop. It is the perfect creative place to unwind. When you come in there is art on the walls from local artists, there are comfy chairs and wide tables, there is a small bookshelf if you feel compelled to read or boardgames if you are bringing a group. The bathroom facilities are sparkling clean. And there are monthly events like musical guests and poetry jams. But what makes this place shine is their friendly staff. They make you feel like this is your home away from home. Their menu is top notch with muffins, coffee, tea and frappes.
It is also a place where you can come and relax, play a few games on their Nintendo switch. Or you can connect with friends and artists. LoLoBee's has become the happening hot spot of bay city performers/creatives.
Can you get a cup of coffee at places like Tim Horton's, McDonald's and Starbucks? Sure. But those places are so in a hurry to get you out the door you barely have any time to think. Also, Lolobees coffee tastes better. I find that I go there to get my favorite drink and muffin and write for 90 minutes. It is cozy and clean and great for the community. I hope they stick around for a long time because they definitely have a customer for life.

Read moreLet me start by saying this place is an absolute gem. LoLoBee’s Lounge is the kind of coffee shop you dream about stumbling into on a rainy day. It's warm, welcoming, and full of charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was being hugged by a cozy mug of espresso.
The staff? Delightful. The atmosphere? Immaculate vibes. The coffee? So good I briefly forgot how the alphabet works. And don’t even get me started on how much I love the operating hours. To have a non-bar place to hang out in the evening is refreshing, and it makes me wonder why more places aren't open to adopting these open times.
But here’s my one complaint......and it’s a big one. It was way too easy to find. I was fully expecting some sort of epic side quest, maybe a riddle from a mysterious old man, or at least a wrong turn into an alley with a hidden door. Nope. Plugged it into my phone and BOOM.....there it was, like it wanted to be discovered. Honestly, the lack of struggle took some of the romance out of it.
Still, if you're looking for a charming spot to sip something wonderful, read a book, or pretend you're working on your screenplay, LoLoBee’s Lounge is the place. Just don’t blame me when you fall in love and never...
