Studio 23/The Arts Center — Attraction in Bay City

I don't like posting negative comments but I have to detail our experience with Studio 23 so people get both sides. I was very excited to take this course, pondered a bit because of the price. My girlfriend and I took the pottery class. Sorry to say it was very disorganized and the instructors did not teach, partly because they had too many students. One of my friend's pieces is still missing. I went 5x in the course of 6 weeks to see if our pieces had been done and out of the kiln. I asked for someone to call me when they were done and no one called, I had to keep returning. For our last class, due to Covid, we were in the studio without direction. No instructor bothered to phone in or video chat to see if us newbies needed anything. We were left on our own. So, when my carved piece, the only one I was excited about, came out of the kiln uncarved, she told me that happens with some glazes. I told her no one was here to teach us that or help me pick the right glaze, and that we would probably not be returning. She had an I don't care attitude.They never offered us a refund for our last class without an instructor nor a discount if we returned for another. I love the small laid back painting class. I get to paint what I want and no sketchbook and grades to worry about. We talk about our pets and kidsand listen to music. We bring in snacks. You can miss a class if you need to. The instructor is friendly and funny. He is always ready to help if you want advice. The studio brings in art exhibits to look at. While you are taking the class you get a pass for nearby parking so you do not run afoul of the free time limited parking space enforcer that probably catches more offenders than even Mad Dog the bounty hunter...

Gallery is great, the lady at the front desk was rude and didn't want to help at all. Purchased a painting, then AFTER she told me that it may not be a week until I'm able to get it, since it's still on display (I'm not from around here, and wouldn't have been able to come back to pick it up). She asked me if I wanted it wrapped, like obviously, I paid 200$...
