I received a letter concerning jury duty in Bay City's federal court. I live in another county and wanted to practice driving to the court house parking lot. My husband and son, who were navigating this fiasco, chose to eat dinner at Sushi Remix. This was the first time I had seen poke bowls, which are merely deconstructed sushi rolls in my eyes. I'm a type 2 diabetic, so I took one look at the menu and I could feel my glucose levels rising. All that white rice. All that sodium. Yum. I loveeeee white rice and sushi, but I shouldn't eat it. So I didn't eat anything. However, my son and husband ate $15 poke bowls and enjoyed their meals very much. Sushi Remix is an extremely clean little cafe, and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a trendy little bowl of deconstructed sushi.

Stopped here after hearing about a different dining choice in Bay City. As a fan of sushi, I was interested but a bit overwhelmed by the choices. There is just something magical about sushi -- small, carefully wrapped and presented food. The bowl presentation famous at Sushi Remix seems to discard that and I have to admit I missed it. I ordered the Californication signature bowl -- it wasn't bad. The ingredients all seemed fresh and 24 ounces is a lot of food (splitting would be a good idea). The bubble tea was also different and interesting -- be sure to get a different flavored boba (the bubbles) from the main tea flavoring. All in all, a good experience; however, not a cheap one. Expect to pay $10-15 a person.

Reviews here are pretty accurate. Despite ordering face to face with the server, I still ended up with shrimp and corn in my bowl, neither of which I requested. I thought maybe it was just cross contamination from sloppy prep but it was a lot. I didn't mind but not good if someone had allergy. The portion size was good. Fish freshness average, not the freshest but not overwhelming fishy. Restaurant was clean, but employee only remembered gloves halfway through serving, not sure what the standard protocol is. Either way, if you read other reviews this seems typical. I'm not from around here so I can't compare locally but otherwise this place is average.

Well I went to the Bay City location, and I will say the food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful.. However, as far as the employees go they did not wear gloves when getting my food ready and my food had touch there hands. And there was money received from the customers ahead of me I don't know where that money has been. In my opinion I feel this is unsanitary.. I think it is against regulations to not wear gloves while serving food, is it not!? How do I know they washed there hands, or are not sick of some sort with any kind of illness, and raw fish on top of that, kind of gross.. Where the food is kept on the line for making your bowls the edges that the customers can see and around the containers has old food stuck to it.. I do think this is a nice place, it is just sad to see the lack of care for the cleaniness for your customers and the care for the spread of germs by not wearing gloves while serving food.. This was my first time there, and unsure if I will go back because of how unsanitary I feel it was...

So I went to sushi remix for the first time since my first visit because I was craving sushi and they were right there. Both times I have ever been there were a disgusting and disappointing experience. I will never ever return to that place. I got soo sick after eating there... The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The staff still not wearing gloves and touches your food with there bare hands. This place is a serious disappointment. I am going to be contacting OSHA on this place for the unsanitary conditions and serving bad rotten fish.. seriously they should be shut down due to the fact that are unsanitary and serving bad fish.. I did contact OSHA and hopefully they...

Went to the Bay City location and it was my first time going to sushi remix. Did not care for the food at all. The quality of the tuna and seafood mix I had was definitely frozen and did not have a fresh taste to it. I had the volcano bowl and I ordered it with the exception of pineapple and sweet onion. The mix of the ingredients did not go well together at all and the sushi rice tasted as if there was too much rice vinegar and it was overcooked to the consistency of mashed potatoes.

I love making traditional Japanese sushi and fell in love with the art of their food but if you come to Sushi Remix do not expect quality or traditional japanese style sushi. It's just a bowl with ingredients slopped together like a school cafeteria. But I guess this is more of a Hawaiian style food. Maybe I just don't know much of their poke bowls.

And on another note their bubble tea selections are not great. They have no milk tea or black pearls which is the foundation of bubble tea. Lmao I am so disappointed of Bay City and their Asian style restaurants here. I have yet to come across any asian inspired restaurants that know traditional...

I recently visited Sushi Remix in Bay City and was very impressed with their build-your-own bowl option. I opted for sushi rice topped with spicy tuna, shrimp, seaweed salad, cucumber, krab, green onion, spicy mayo, and poke sauce. It was fantastic! All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the mix-ins were perfectly balanced.

My dining partner ordered the Californication bowl, which unfortunately fell a bit flat. It lacked some punch and could have benefited from some acidity or umami to brighten up the flavors. She ended up adding eel sauce, which definitely helped.

Overall, I would highly recommend Sushi Remix for their build-your-own bowls. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were top-notch, and the ability to customize your own bowl is a major plus. Just be aware that some of their pre-designed bowls might need a little extra something to...
