Where to begin?!! From the minute you walk in the door, you know you are in the right place. Shout out to Nick, who found us a spot in the bar even though the place was hopping. And yes, great food served by great people in a cozy restaurant gets busy. We don't, as a rule, make reservations - but you are taking your chances at Prost if you don't. You've been warned.
So, which is better: the People, the Vibe, the Food, or the Drinks??? OMG, it's impossible to put one ahead of the other. Suffice to say we went back two nights in a row in spite of other high recommendations we wanted to try in Bay City. Hot tip: Wednesday is 50% off wine by the bottle, and they have some bottles worth making the effort for. (We didn't know it until we got there, but we instantly took advantage with a bottle of Veuve). Yeah, yeah, I know, trust me: there are OTHER Champagnes besides Veuve Cliquot - and I strongly encourage Prost to ADD, judiciously, to the Champagne list.
The food. Give me a moment while I reminisce. The charcuterie is king on the Prost menu, and you are in for an off-world experience. The dry Italian salami and prosciutto di Parma are first rate. The Black Forest schinken is a smokey treat. Oh, but oh, it's the Jamon Serrano from Spain that makes Prost not just a dinner destination but a place of pilgrimage.
Thank you, EVERYONE, for making us feel so welcome and so much a part of your family. And to everyone wondering whether to go: GO!

Read moreProst Wine Bar & Charcuterie in Bay City recently proved itself a haven for those seeking a delightful evening filled with exceptional flavors and a cozy ambiance.
We opted for the Build Your Own Charcuterie Board, a testament to Prost's commitment to personalized culinary experiences. Our selection of salami, mortadella, and prosciutto showcased a variety of cured meats, each with its own distinct flavor profile. The creamy burrata and sharp Parmesan provided a perfect balance to the richness of the meats, while the pickles and roasted tomatoes added bright, acidic notes to the board. They have many options available and every element was thoughtfully chosen and impeccably fresh.
The cocktail menu at Prost is equally impressive. We sampled several, each a testament to the bartender's skill and creativity. The drinks were balanced and expertly crafted, utilizing fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations.
The overall atmosphere of Prost is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a date night or a casual gathering with friends. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, further enhancing the overall experience.

Read moreOur server was decent The place looks nice We start off with a tepid glass of water! The food was very not good, the only thing on the menu for a “normal guy” is a $50 fillet, and it tasted “gamey” (it was cooked perfectly), my wife’s panini was just mediocre at best. Our appetizer was some bread that was soggy with a cheese that was just gross, we scraped off the cheese and managed to eat the bread dry. There were no beers on draft, and I had to resort to a bottle of miller light. My wife’s drink was good until she got to the part where a bug was in it! Thank goodness someone gifted us that gift card, because I would be furious if I had paid $100 for that mess! The whole place feels like it just tries too hard and ultimately feels pretentious. To the management: how about a choice or 3 of normal guy food? If our wives want to take us somewhere fancy, the least you could do for us is make something we can pronounce and enjoy eating. And what is up with no draft beers? Miller light in a bottle, I felt like a damn fool sitting in such a fancy place with a bottle of mediocre beer in front of me! Also, can we please get some ice in our water? Is cold water too...
