I’m currently seated at Emilio’s, and I’ve ordered an appetizer and main dish. When I asked to be seated, the first person placed up a hand 🤚🏼 like to say hold what I’m asking, then a gentleman came out and scanned my outfit head to toe. (I’m wearing Lilly Pulitzer, Tory Burch purse and Bulgari jewelry yet he looked at me like a waste of time). I was seated and asked 4 different times what I’d like to order, even though all 4 times I asked for water (as I’m in town for a Med school exam in the morning), like maybe I’d change my mind? I ordered my appetizer, then later the waiter came by and just grabbed the menu and turned, so I stopped him to order my main. I don’t normally feel uncomfortable with being this disrespected, but I am appalled at the service here - especially for Bal Harbour Island. Do I look too young? Is it because I’m here alone? This is foolish. I know I should’ve just cancelled my order, yet here I am, still at their table awaiting my two dishes. Don’t come here 🌹

Added: In Canadian fashion, I’ve just tipped 20%, incase some of that goes to kitchen staff, and for fear of the older Italian waiter approaching me lol. As non-bias as possible: the burrata cheese was great, but the salad it was served on was very acidic (but not lemon-y so don’t know how they get it to taste distastefully acidic / bitter?), my main was fine and large portioned. Overall, food was good. Excellent food and top notch service. This was my second time dining at the restaurant. I had the special shrimp and linguine and my husband had the chicken Parmesan. Both dishes were excellent! We also had fried calamari as an appetizer and the tiramisu for dessert. Everything was perfection. The staff here, from the hostess to the servers , is professional, attentive and welcoming. They make you feel at home from the moment you walk in.It’s really a hidden gem of a restaurant. The clientele appear to be well heeled yet the atmosphere doesn’t present the stuffiness and pretentiousness which you see a lot in the Miami Beach restaurant seen.
