where do i begin? as soon as my family walked in there we were shocked. this place was amazing, the decor, the waiters/waitresses, and the way they bring you to your table is just adorable! we got seated just before the room with the giant bo-peep, but it was very a comfortable seating area. our waitress katy was amazing and so into the role of a toy. one time while i was exploring in the bo-peep area, the audio came on and sid was coming so everyone hid. i spotted our server laying down on a chair hiding. it was an amazing experience being there. the food was amazing, though there were a few things to be noted on. we were brought out at first watermelon, a salad, and cheese biscuits. the biscuits were amazing, the watermelon were so refreshing, the salad was good but there were a bit too many onions. after the appetizer, the food came out almost immediately, and there was a lot. at the beginning, we did not even need to order as it is a family style restaurant so they bring your food out all together and you can take what you want from the bowls. basically like a buffet but only for your party. we had meat, corn, coleslaw, baked beans, macaroni, and tater tots. there was also barbecue already on the table. to start with the baked beans, (pretty much the reason for four and not five stars) i can’t speak for my family (they didn’t try it) but the baked beans was not like anything i’ve ever had. they weren’t disgusting per se, but it was basically pinto beans put into some sort of sauce. i tried it a couple times but just left it entirely after that. the meat all together was brisket, ribs, chicken, and one singular sausage link. the ribs were not “fall off the bone” ribs, but they were still decent, but the second round were amazing. the first round of chicken was absolutely delicious, but the second round was dry and not tasting as good. in my opinion, the macaroni was gooey and amazing, but if you wanted more you would need to ask your server. again, i was the only one who tried the coleslaw and for me it was too sweet. the brisket was good, but better with the barbecue. the sausage was meh, did not taste like a normal sausage. the tater tots were any normal tater tot you would make at home, so not horrible. the corn took a couple bites to get used to, but it was actually awesome! it was a mexican street corn with some sort of sour cream and a cheese that would not melt (not parmesan). the dessert was amazing, the forky cupcake was like any normal cupcake, except forky was stuck inside of it as a sugar cookie. the base of the forky cupcake was basically like chocolate lava cake, but not warm. it was very good. there was a cherry rope wrapped around forky’s neck to represent his arms and the forky’s all had different faces. my sister got bo’s lemon and blueberry cheesecake, and she gave me a vague response… “the cheesecake was really, really good.” my mom got the same and said she loved the little blueberries (actual blueberries) in it and the little graham cracker crusts in it. my dad got the billy’s chocolate silk pie and said the chocolate tasted real, he liked the rich chocolate shaving on top and enjoyed the graham cracker crust on the bottom. afterward our waiter came back and asked if we wanted more and my dad and i got forky again and my sister got bo’s lemon cheesecake again. they were amazing and i am very glad we got the experience of going there. one very nice part about it is that when we were dining, the lights dimmed and a toy soldier shouted “andy’s coming!” and everyone froze as they are supposed to be toys (we had people talking behind us sadly). overall 100/10 experience and i would recommend to anyone wondering if they should go. heads up, make a reservation and for my family of four (not including the tip) it was 191.00 (approximately) please go here!! amazing experience. (i have no clue how to add pictures to my review so they are somewhere in the...
Read moreThis is one of the most exceptional customer service oriented restaurants I have ever been part of. Hector from here in Florida (but was raised at a young age in Fordham Road) was an example of what every server should do with pride, excellence, and went that extra mile by making my family feel like family. His knowledge of the menu was exceptional, and Hector, when asked what his advice was on, what drinks to pair with the menu he knew immediately. He was so intent in making sure we enjoyed our food, service, drinks, and overall experience that I had to tell him he was the most excellent server I have ever had, even in Michelin star that I have been a chef or a customer. Hector started with the most tasty and buttery biscuits that are just perfection and they are square shaped with a side of jam that was just the right quantity of sweeteness and flavor (it was what I believe is a blackberry jam with lemon and honey) the beautifully placed salads. Kale, watermelon, cucumber, and fried pickles. Every dish was esthetically well placed, and the quality and quantity were beautiful and well seasoned. The main course was barbecued chicken, seasoned sausage, and brisket that was cooked to perfection. Mexican style corn with shredded cheese and seasoned to perfection. I had to well proportioned pieces of the best smoked salmon. The deserts Hector recommended were these small but satisfying pies in well proportioned sizes. The chocolate pie was amazing and silky. The apple, mango, and I believe it also had peaches with the right amount of spices. Now, keep in mind this restaurant is a buffet style experience where the server will bring everything to you. If you love everything (which you will), you can ask for seconds or more, but enjoy the food and do not over eat if you are planning to enjoy the rides afterward. Out of the 12+ restaurants, I have had the pleasure to eat inside any of the Disney parks. This is just pleasure, excellence, and quality. I had to ask what they do with the leftovers (you can not take any takeout at all) what they do is take any left over and they use it as compost for the farms and vegetation they have within Disney. Most of the fish, vegetables, and ingredients are grown within Disney. I almost forgot, everytable has three bottles of their signature barbecue sauses, normal, sweet, and hot. Try all 3. I have been to the overpriced Beauty and the beast restaurant, and this restaurant beats it for quality of food, atmosphere, customer service, and the surprises you will experience while you are sitting and going through the exceptional experience. Thank you to the staff, chefs, decoration department, fabricators, lighting techs, quality control, cleaning staff, management, and especially Hector for being an excellent representation of what every server should be and the hard work Hector did for me and others throughout my dining experience last Wednesday at 3:30 pm. Please make sure to make a reservation if you want to eat in this excellent restaurant and ask for Hector if you can and let him know Mr. C. from Whimsical Laboratories recommended you to him. I even asked Management at the front desk in the restaurant for their paperwork in order to give Hector his well-deserved recommendation of excellence. I told him I was giving him the highest tip possible because of how Hector does his job with honor, true dedication, and...
Read moreFirst the concept is really fun. Especially for kids. I did an earlier review but it disappeared. Big thing here is the server makes a huge difference in your experience. Walter B. made sure we were ignored and frustrated. Walter...I just wanted a normal straw for my drink. Nothing fancy. Oh yes... And the drink itself too. There were only two of us adults at the table. Basically not more demanding than getting our drinks before we were done eating. Which were ordered before anything else. Then watching as every other server in the place had a pocket full of straws. Trying to ask others for one but was ingnored by most and the three I managed to ask said ok... Then disappeared not to be seen again. Finally as Walter B. brought our drinks slammed them down and took off... Didn't ask if we wanted or needed thing. That's actually when the quest for the straw began. The drink was ice filled in a jar with brown powder on the rim. Was trying to drink it without getting powder on my nose. Hummm everyone else had a straw. Anyway about 15 minutes down the road I got him to stop over... Asked him for a straw. About 5 minutes he arrived with two straws that were huge in diameter. We couldn't figure out what they were for except maybe a thick shake or something. Looking around I was dealing with straw envy now... All those normal straws out there and for over 20 minutes I had been trying to get one. I tried to use it but was very hard to do with liquid. Finally as he is running by again I yell out could I PLEASE just get a normal straw???? He comes back later throws a couple down. Starts to clear things away while we are still eating. At one point it included the drink I just got the straw for. Sigh.... So we are not slow eaters by any means. But sometimes the service gets in the way of eating. This certainly impacted our dinner. Yes they were busy. Yes there were only two people instead of 4 or 6. We pay the same as everyone else but because the party was smaller the bill would be less and so would the tip. However we also were less work than the larger party. We tip over 30 percent for a decent server. And if the bill is small we don't rely on a percentage we give more. All I am trying to get at here is Walter could have gotten a MUCH better tip if he hadn't decided we weren't worth waiting on. And we sat there thinking.... Look how much fun people are having with their servers! Why didn't we get one of those?! Walter don't ignore a party of two old folks sitting in the corner... Ask if they need something. Bring a regular straw. Not an insult. Thanks for ruining OUR experience. Walter, you don't know who is going to give you a great trip...... Or perhaps in your case, a really bad review. BTW the chef was pretty good with the gluten free options. But get a different server than Walt B. Food was meh....
