I live in springhill and drive to this location because the food quality is much better most of the time.. last night I walk in the door with my husband and I’m greeted with “I wish you waited 20 minutes” as the woman whose name is Lydia gathered menus for us. Thinking she was cracking a joke I asked her why is that? I kid you not, Her response was a straight up “because I leave in 20 minutes and someone else would be here to take care of you” She walks us to our table shaking her head back and forth as if we, customers are inconveniencing her MAJORLY. In absolute disbelief my husband and I look at each other not really knowing how to react so I politely say next time we won’t come ! Sorry! And she goes “ you can come just later next time”
I am a server myself who had JUST clocked off from a double and I tell you I have NEVER in all of my life heard a server speak like this! I was DUMBFOUNDED!!!! Wanting to get up and leave but limited options I decided to wait until the next server showed up instead of leaving because most of the time this place isn’t a problem… she was not joking, she was not being sarcastic but this girl let her inner thoughts speak! I don’t care if it’s McDonald’s, Outback, Dennys, or Bern’s steakhouse- if an employee speaks to customers like that on occasion think of how often they make the establishment look bad… If she is that way with customers what is her work performance like when no one is watching?
she comes back she asks if we are ready, I reply no. She then proceeded to stand there and ask me over and over again if I was 100% sure I wasn’t ready… It gets worse- When I tell her after the 4th time I need more time she asks me if I am waiting on purpose because she said she was getting off in 20 minutes? At this point I am literally biting my tongue trying to deal with someone THIS ignorant. We told her we needed more time to get her to leave us alone for a few more minutes until the other server arrived… While waiting for the other girl I’m hearing this girl trash talk cooks, other servers, complaining about being there blah blah blah. She dropped a plate on the way to the kitchen at some point and shouted “ it’s not coming out of my paycheck so I don’t care!” Like I said- I know this is Dennys…. And it also happened to be 11:40 pm on a Sunday in pasco county. What more can you expect? But if anyone who is in charge is looking at this review, I HIGHLY suggest you take Lydia off the floor and put her in the dish pit. A person like that shouldn’t be FOH.
The comments she made were unacceptable, the way it continued until she left with a nasty attitude and condescending remarks was unacceptable. Throwing an entire fit because you have to do your job while making paying customers feel like they are a nuisance is unacceptable and quite offensive to someone who is in the same field and LOVES what they do.. Miss Lydia my TIP that I owe you from last night isn’t cash, it’s a reminder to enjoy your job, take pride in your work and be kind! You aren’t forced to work you are privileged to work. Take a look at all of the people walking around RIGHT outside of your workplace. Humble yourself and show gratitude for your work and ability to spread kindness. This interaction really bothered me, thanks...
Read moreOn 10/12/2024 at appropriately 8:15, my wife and self went to Dennys for breakfast. The restaurant didn't appear busy, but after sitting down and getting a hot coffee and not seeing anyone for 15 minutes heard about a prayer group through the regular patrons eating in the back party room. Not 1 employee took the time to explain the wait. Yet the 2 other employees kept walking by nobody made eye contact or offered assistance in any way. It is clearly every one for themselves. Finally I walked to their service area for assistance, in which I was told everyone worked hard yesterday, today is today, yesterday's past has nothing to do with our breakfast except the fact no communication. We order the stuffed cream cheese strawberry brioche slam (just do it you won't be disappointed for sure) the cooks hit it out of the park, nailed it, couldn't have been better. My wife and I ordered the same including hash browns and I a side of sausage gravy for my hash browns. Food comes out including sausage gravy, no hash browns after bringing it to her attention I'm told about cooking times (really cooking is cooking why lie and not say I forgot), so just 1 order of hash browns comes out have to wait (don't forget our earlier cooking tutorial about long cooking times on hash browns, while we wait for our 2nd order. Why didn't we wait for the whole order to be ready all at once, including those long cooking hash browns. THE COOKS HIT OUR MEAL OUT OF THE PARK, THEY DID MORE THAN COOK, THEY MADE OUR EXPERIENCE AND SAVED THEIR CO WORKERS INEPTNESS. Our waitress always smiled and was polite very, very, forgetful. Forgot our creamer, our to go boxes. This total breakfast nightmare lasted 1 and a half hours, that's right quick breakfast not formal dinner night on a cruise. This is the BEST PART you can tell the regular patrons and at least 7 came, ate, paid, left and we're still waiting. My suggestion is if your not a regular and hungry go south to Dennys on Trouble Creek by Sam's club they seem to treat (through my own personal experiences there) everyone the same, every one's a regular. I'm not complaining about the food, the price, quantity, which to me is more than fair. My total bill for breakfast $48 and change, I left $60 regardless of the terrible service I JUST HOPE SHE REALIZE COMMUNICATION IS THE WAY TO GO AND HOPEFULLY HER CO WORKERS START HELPING EACH OTHER SO THEY CAN HELP MAKE PATRONS DINING EXPERIENCES THE BEST POSSIBLE EVEN IF THEY DON'T START THAT WAY. I still would suggest Trouble Creek Dennys as a 1st choice. I purposely didn't name anyone, they know, please use this as a learning tool. Thank you for being there that day, you guys can fix...
Read moreThe waitress was not friendly at all. She brought my kids out milkshakes that had to have a plate and 100 napkins under cause she over filled them and said "I could have changed the cups, but I didn't" uh okay ... They took forever for the food. When it did come half the table was served the other was just looking stupid. My food was terrible, my niece had 3 long gross hairs in her pancakes and then they served both my daughter and niece undercooked eggs. When I said something the waitress did and said nothing. We were seated next to the kitchen and she proceeded to tell everyone in the back what we had said and was literally calling my niece names... I called someone else over to the table. At first he was nice, of course made excuses for his fellow co worker said they would take care of it. Going up to the register the guy was arguing with my niece and made her so uncomfortable she started having a panic attack and when I heard him I went off. I couldn't be nice anymore about it. I don't cuss at people especially in public but when you attack my family especially over something that wasn't even under bed control, I let it fly. I told the kid was looked barley old enough to drive that we needed someone who would be able to properly handle our issues. He said he's right there you get him. 🤦 So I did. I told him what was going on as loudly as I could so others could hear because no one this entire time wanted to do what was right. In the end, the people who sat next to us a sweet older lady and her grandson, told me there food wasn't good either and that she saw us and what we had to deal with she said she wouldn't have paid not one penny.. it was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant Reminded me why we always went to the Denny's in new port Richey instead of this one. They aren't clean, they are rude as hell and your food will most...
