THAT'S AMORE !!!!!!!!!!!! Ciaro is the best ever. Is super friendly and always takes care of all his customers the old school Italian way with love and respect. My most favorite sangwich shop in all NJ. I go 2 to 3 times a week. And he makes fresh meatballs and sauce for everyone. Always has pure Italian ingredients that are always farm fresh. Best Italian food aside from NONA. he is so warm and loving to each and every customer. whether it is your first time there or 100th time. everyone is treated like family and given respect always. this place needs to be on TV and recognized by zaggat reviews. the best and most fresh Italian foods ever from home made meatballs, sausage, chicken parm and pasta sauce. to the best and biggest cold cut sangwhiches anywhere. with the best breads found. than to top it off he has an amazing assortment of fresh genuine Italian cheeses to choose from. will even make you real fresh grated cheese. his prices are on point even with the cost of everything rising he still takes care of all his customers. he is so pure and refreshing to be around. he loves kids and always takes time to come out from the counter or kitchen to say hello to my son who he is amazed with so much and loves his real old school Italian name Michael-Angelo.. this place is the best shop in all of Bayonne and to me better than many Italian...
Read moreI had to sit and think hard. 5 to 10 issues out of the thousand I could’ve picked for this review. Let’s start with the obvious: No prices on anything. One day the sandwich is $12, the next it’s $20. Nothing’s labeled, nothing’s consistent. Great.
Then there are the free meals for the local heroes (firefighters, etc.—good for them), but guess what? I’m always next in line. And I know Charlie’s gonna make up the cost by charging me $55 for a sandwich. It’s like a game of roulette with whos going to pay.
The place is decorated like Christmas 365 days a year. Just swap in mouse traps for mistletoe. They’re everywhere shelves, corners, under the drink fridge. All part of the “ambiance,” I guess.
Let’s talk staff. Junior, the short dude with the smirk, spends half the time walking in circles or getting yelled at. No gloves. Fine, not a deal-breaker. But the nails? Looks like he’s been growing them since birth. Honestly, it’s disgusting.
And the sandwich? The infamous 18-incher that costs as much as a tank of gas. $55, or $60 if you dare grab a bottle of water. And for what? A thin, sad excuse for a sandwich with a skimpy layer of mozzarella.
Final thoughts? If you're into overpriced mystery-meat sandwiches, year-round holiday clutter, and paying for someone else’s free lunch, you’re gonna...
Read moreItalian deli at its best. I got the classic Italian and it did not disappoint. I was greeted by ‘what would you like?’ And there is no menu listed, good thing I knew I wanted to have the Italian sub. Then he told me to pick out my bread - I didn’t realize but there are brow boxes of bread, you just reach in and pick which one you want. I think the bread dictates the price. Not completely sure. mine turned out to be $12
They really know how to make a sandwich. Each thing of meat looked like nothing you can get at a regular deli, it just looked such good quality. And it was cut super thin. The meat was piled high and had fresh mozzarella on it. It was huge but it tasted so light and delicious.
IDK what it is about Bayonne shops but I would say 90% of them, at least the old school ones, have year round Christmas decorations up. Including this place. I’m not complaining at all I’m just noticing a trend!
The owner was there and he was a hoot. Everyone was so friendly, I can see how this has been a neighborhood spot for many years. I hope...
