If you are looking for a delicious meal and if you like meat that falls off the bone and never tried cucumber salad, this is the place to go! My sister's birthday was on September 11th and my sisters and I decided to celebrate at a restaurant that had outdoor eating available. This was truly the best barbecue meal that we enjoyed in a long time. We also received the best Customer Service and Hospitality was the best we have experienced in a long time. I felt as though I was transported back in time to Cottageville in Birmingham Alabama . PLEASE bear with me everyone but I must give my props to the ESSENTIAL WORKERS that served and fed us. The first person that we met was Retha. Ms Retha you have no idea but you were such a blessing to my family that day. We had just left another restaurant and we thought we were going to eat some seafood but the young female employees at that previous restaurant we're so rude that we were thinking about going back home and then my sister says let's go to City Barbecue in Beachwood Ohio. We are so glad that we ate there. Thank you Miss Retha for your service and for just being a wonderful person with excellent customer service skills. To the corporation that owns this City Barbecue,it would be worth your while to hire Mrs Retha to train your new hires in customer service skills because she does it with excellence! My hats are off also to the following people Nyonna, Jacob, Quinton, Johnny, Lisa, Rhonda and Aaron for helping my sister Diane have a beautiful birthday celebration! Please try their food you will not be disappointed oh Grandma sorry but they're banana pudding was better than yours 😔😋

Okay so here’s the deal...They have repeatedly been sold out of ribs which doesn’t make sense seeing they have several locations here in northern Ohio so why not have the store in Fairlawn ship a few cases of ribs especially for the grand opening weekend!!! I know several people who went and did not get to try certain things bc they were sold out. This restaurant has been open for about a month now I went the 1st time a week ago and got the chicken (leg & thigh), corn pudding & green beans - everything was just okay the chicken was juicy but the skin was tough and I couldn’t chew through it very strange no smoked flavor or seasoning. The corn pudding is nostalgic to me my grandfather would purchase whole pans from the one in Columbus he was very fond of that location. The green beans had a good flavor w the pork meat. The person I came w got the brisket, collard greens and corn pudding. This brisket was so dry and had no smoked flavor at all we were both surprised and the collards were very vinegary they didn’t finish their meal. The banana pudding is okay it honestly taste like it came from a box. Call to find out if they are sold out of stuff then make the trip if you just want to try for yourself. I wouldn’t recommend simply because your not missing out on much. Maybe one day some of us will get to actually try the ribs but by that point summer will be here and we can make them ourselves.

The overall location is well thought out, central and receives a lot of foot traffic. The exterior and interior decor was modern and classy compared a to traditional barbeque shack. My food was just being bagged as I arrived. The ribs were very good, but nothing more than. The potato salad was more like mashed potatoes, and the coleslaw was listed as "creamy" on that app but wasn't at all. Needed more seasoning and dressing. I later tried a pulled chicken sandwich. It initially comes with no sauce but that can be ordered on the side. The chicken might have been over seasoned, as it was very salty, but the original barbeque sauce balanced it a bit. The fries and baked beans with brisket were okay. The peach cobbler has a cake like texture, which I loved, in addition you can order whipped cream! I added store bought vanilla ice cream and it was a banger. I'd definitely return for a peach cobbler or two. The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich is also very good, glad it was given a permanent spot on the menu. Only a few gems I’ll return for. Any return trips I make are usually as a result of a coupon simply because the food is average and the quality of some items over the past few years is at a decline.

Driving from Toronto we’re looking for dinner near our hotel. We haven’t had a barbeque in a while and when we saw city barbecue, we got excited. When we walked in it was very lively, we were greeted immediately and were given time to look through the menu. The client service is top-notch would cheer you up even if you were in a terrible mood. Definitely busy for Friday night. They’re common room was full, but it was very clean. Everything was organized not a complaint to be seen. They are a Pepsi product facility, which would probably be my downfall so we took everything to go. We had the hand pulled pork, beef, pastrami, and beef brisket. We got the sampler platter so we got fries and mac & cheese meats and the cuts were delicious. Gotta love a nice toasted Texas bread, fries were on point! I do feel that the mac & cheese need a little more flavour and texture. The banana pudding was my favourite hands-down

First time and last time at City Barbeque. The restaurant itself was nice. I loved the signs and paintings. It was clean and the staff was really nice. Unfortunately the food was not so good. The chipotle sandwich was listed as pork, chicken and rib meat on Texas toast. Instead I received a small amount of some sort of meat on a hotdog bun. The prices were outrageous compared to the small amount of food received. *** Edited review I did take the time to go back to the restaurant. Again I enjoy this restaurant but still feel that the amount and quality of food does make this a restaurant I would go back to. This time I tried the Judges sampler. The meat was okay. The sides were good but for $35.00 not worth it.The bottom line is this is not a restaurant for budget minded people. The restaurant itself is great, the service is awesome but the food is not worth the price.

Please delete my account set up. Tried to order on line and options we saw on the menu were not available as options once ordering. I tried to call it in and put on hold for 6 min. Went to the location and a mistake. They said there were out of most of the food. I basically ordered 3 pulled pork sandwiches versus the judges sampler. While I was there customer were irate. Order and food provided to a customer after he ordered got.the food. My first time visit to any city barbeque. Sad!! Not sure I would try again. The woman at the register should be complimented as her demeanor and handling customers was excellent. Customers walking out. But bad bad first experience. still here and everyone ahead of me and some after me have been served. Finally asked what I ordered and started over. 40 minutes+ for takeout. Happy new year.
